We have ice starting to form on our lake but we could be seeing temps in the
60s this Saturday. We'll ride south from the Depot in East Dundee. We'll
head to the Bartlett Nature Center and then Duerr Preserve south of South
Elgin. All paved (except for short stretches near the Bartlett Nature
Center and the Trolley Museum), and mostly flat, except for a few "rollers"
south of Elgin on the return. Easy to turn around sooner if time or energy
are a concern. Distance will be 20-25 miles.

On the return I'm looking to seethe new kayak launch at the parkin South
Elgin (unless it has been removed for the winter).

What: Ride Fox River Trail from the Dundee Depot
When: Saturday, November 15, 10:00 AM
Where: Dundee Depot (319 N River St, East Dundee)
How: Casual ride, no one left behind, target 10-12 mph

West on 72/Higgins, right on River St. Park on the south end of Meier St
past Duke's BBQ (caboose).

Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare.

Reminders: Helmets are expected safety gear. Bike must be in reasonable
condition. Guests are welcome to join us for one ride but are expected to
join the club for additional rides (insurance requirements). Fountains may
be disabled so bring enough water. Please carry emergency contact info.

Let me know you are coming so I don't leave without you.

We enjoyed exceptional weather for our ride yesterday. We started about 60 degrees and had 70 degrees at the end. It was a little breezy, nut not bad. It was cool when it was cloudy but nice in the sunshine. We were concerned about possible rain as we passed through Elgin due to dark clouds. We did see "virga" (rain falling from the clouds that doesn't reach the ground) but encountered no drips. Many other riders were enjoying the trail as well. (I assumed most riders would have already put away their bikes for the winter.) In South Elgin we saw the newly installed semi-accessible kayak launch. Patti had a flat at the end of the ride. Pat H, Mansoor, Ray M, Patti, Kathi, Joan, Dave & Noreen, and Karen joined me for a very pleasant late fall ride of 25 miles.
