Fox River Trail, Saturday May 16, 10:00 AM

Join me for a ride on the Fox River Trail. We'll start at the library in
St. Charles and ride south to the Aurora library. All paved trails except
for a few short stretches on streets. Mostly flat. Ride will be about 24
miles round trip to Aurora, but since it is out and back you can turn around
when it is appropriate for you. We'll probably need to walk our bikes
through the farmer's market in Batavia. There is a good amount of shade on
this route which will help if the temps hit mid-80s as predicted. Watch for
updates due to the possibility of rain.

What: Ride Fox River Trail
When: Saturday, May 16, 10:00 AM
Where: St. Charles Library (1 S 6th Ave)
How: 10-12 mph. Casual ride. No one left behind.

Please park in the SE corner of the parking lot closest to the corner of 7th
Ave and Illinois.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to prepare.

Reminders: Helmets are expected safety gear. Bike must be in reasonable
condition. Guests are welcome to join us for one ride but are expected to
join the club for additional rides (insurance requirements). Fountains may
be disabled so bring enough water. Please carry emergency contact info.

Let me know you are coming so I don't leave without you.

Despite the early morning rain, out came the sun and dried up all the rain and the itsy bitsy spider went up the spout again. (Sorry. Too much time watching CocoMellon with the 10 month old granddaughter.) It was already 70 and sunny when we started this morning, and over 80 when we finished. No more jackets and winter gear, I hope. The trail was busy but not crowded. The farmers market in Batavia seems to have grown a lot larger. I was surprised at how much quieter the trail on the west side of the river was. Two weeks ago the river was the highest I have seen in years. Today it was low. Quite a change in only a couple weeks. I was pleased at the good turnout for today's ride. Joan, Donna, Ray M, Larry, Bill, Cyndi, Neil, Peg, Mansoor and Karen joined me for 24 pleasant miles. New rider Javier joined us. (He started his ride in Schaumburg to join us.) Thanks to Joan and Larry for sharing their photos and videos.
