Hi everyone,

The SBU Badminton Tournament will begin on Saturday, May 3rd, at 1 PM at the Stony Brook Campus Recreation Center. The courts will be available for warm-up at 12 PM. We will be using four courts for our events and I believe we can finish the tournament within one day. The first men's doubles game will begin at 1:00 PM and Men's singles at 1:30 PM. All of the events should finish before 8 PM. Players are guaranteed two games per event - meaning you won't be eliminated after playing your first game.

Men's singles and Men's doubles will consist of an A bracket and a B bracket. Placement is determined based on whether you win or lose the first game.

Mixed doubles will be played with an initial phase of pool play. Two teams will advance to the playoffs from each pool.

Women's doubles and Women's singles will be played in a round robin style.

Aeroplane Green shuttles will be provided for the games. There will also be a stringing service available. The fees are $15 (own string), $21 (BG-65), $23 (BG-68Ti).

Directions: From the LIE, take exit 62 to Nicolls Rd north. Keep going then make a left onto North Entrance Road, followed by a left onto Circle Road. You will arrive at Stadium Road, which will lead you to the stadium parking lot. Feel free to park anywhere marked Stadium Parking. If you are using a GPS, input "Kenneth P. Lavalle Stadium, Brookhaven, NY," and it should lead you to the stadium parking lot. From the parking lot, there will be a red building to the south and that is the Campus Recreation Center. The entrance is a short walk on a pathway that is west of the building. See attached picture.

IMPORTANT: If you are receiving this email this means that you, the owner of the email address, will have access to the building. If you did not receive this email or you have friends or guests that would like to come watch, please email me their names ASAP. If their name is not on the list that I submit to the recreation center office, you will be denied entry unless a guest pass of $10 is purchased.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me.

Good luck!
