Tony,
Sounds like a great idea. I would vote for 8 AM starts.

Just to expand on Tommy’s email…
As most of you know Steve Bowen has recently had the Grand opening of the new PV Bicycle Center located at 4B Peninsula Center, Corner of Hawthorne & Silver Spur Rolling Hills Estates, CA 90274.
We would like to start and end some weekend rides from the shop where refreshments (coffee, bagels, Gatorade, etc) will be served both before and after the ride. Now I know that 6am is pretty early for some riders, and even 7am may be too early so what we’re looking for is input. If you prefer to ride at a specific time, please let us know and we’ll pull the groups together starting at different times, and different levels. We are also looking for group leaders commonly know as the Trail Boss. Along with that we would also need a Trail Boss in Training or TIT as they are sometimes referred to who can act in place when the Trail Boss is absent.
Just think about how much nicer it will be to ride with a group of your peers instead of riding alone! Think about what, how, when you would like to schedule a regular weekend ride….let us know, and we’ll take care of the rest. Of course we’ll need your contact information –

We are currently in the process of updating the website www.pvbike.com to include a group ride sign up page, but for now this will get us started.

Tomorrow morning 6:30AM for the loop around the hill, weather permitting. Leaving MC at 6:30AM, not 6:00AM.
And don't forget the PV Bicycle center rides leaving this Sat and Sun 8AM ( every Sat and Sun actually )
Saturday is a moderate No-drop ride of approximately 11 miles.
Sunday a little more aggressive. Ride and length TBD.
Please spread the word.
Thanks.

Jake,
As much as I like your ride idea, I think that this Saturday is not going to be the best for that ride. Of course I have not ridden Hwy 2, so I may be wrong, but I think there is snow there right now.

Date: Tuesday, December 9, 2008, 11:41 AMIs there any interest for a San Gabriel mountains road century on
12/20 starting from Clear Creek ranger station on hwy 2 ride to
wrightwood and back? It has a lot of climbing and an unique 15 mi
stretch of road closed tocars due to a land slide but passable by
bicycles.
