Meeting Minutes & Plan of Action for the Competition
SBA Faculty Services
For those of you who were not able to make it this morning, I have
included some notes on what we focused on. Additionally, for everyone- I
have included the survey and the group break down for the 10 competition
groups for the Spring Waste Reduction Competition. Any feedback you have
would be wonderful!

*The main focus of the meeting was to discuss plans for the Spring Waste
Reduction Competition. The main questions that were discussed were:
1) What prizes should be given? and
2) How do we keep people engaged and motivated throughout the quarter?
1) Rachel will check in with Darrell & Scott about funding for prizes.
Ideally, we would be able to get reusable grocery bags, reusable water
bottles & possibly pizza for the winning hallway/office.
2) The team came up with several ideas for how to keep people engaged
throughout the competition. Below are the ideas that we will be using:
*As soon as Zoie and Rachel have the results of the baseline audit, we
will post these results in all the hallways and offices (replacing the
overall waste audit results). These will also be sent out via email.
* The four members at the meeting plus Zoie have each volunteered to be
representatives to 2 hallways/office throughout the competition. This
will involve either meeting with or emailing the hallway/office to
discuss the questions included on the survey (attached), helping them
brainstorm effective strategies and providing them with whatever
information they feel they need. This may also include check ins
throughout the quarter to see if they need anything and are still
feeling engaged.
*Rachel will send out a preliminary email in the next week or so to let
the hallways/offices know that a green team member will be contacting
them to help them brainstorm for the competition.
*As mentioned, the survey is attached and open for feedback.
Additionally, the group lists are attached with assignments.
If a member who was not able to be at the meeting would like to serve as
a representative to a hallway/office (not your own) please let me know!
I'm sure we can work something out :)
