Hello, Green Team members.

As promised, I wanted to send everyone the sample email I am sending out to my hallways. You are welcome to basically copy and paste it into your own email.

I hope this helps and let me know how things go!

I will be sending out mine on Monday.

Sincerely,
Rachel

Hello 4th Floor South Hallway!

Are you ready for the waste diversion competition?!

To start off, I just wanted to introduce myself as your representative and make sure that everyone is aware there is a competition under way. As explained on the attached sheets (and the ones in your hallways), the green team has initiated a waste diversion competition among all faculty hallways and staff offices. We already took an initial waste audit baseline and will be taking the final one at the end of the quarter to determine which team has the largest percentage of change. In between, we have time to work together, learn more, and come up with strategies. This competition is an effort to spread knowledge about the recycling resources on campus, how to utilize them, and hopefully catalyze behavior change.

Additionally, I want to check in to see how you would prefer to communicate during the competition. If people are willing and able to have a face to face meeting, I would love to set one up for next week. However, realistically, I know everyone has tight schedules and so I am more than willing to utilize email primarily and simply drop by the hallway when I can.

So what I am hoping for right now is this:

1) If you can and would be willing to meet for about 15-20 minutes in person, if you could reply to me with 2 times that work for you (i.e., Monday afternoons) that would be wonderful!

2) Attached is a small survey about your waste habits/knowledge. If you have time and could fill this out and send it back to me I think that would be a great start. (Anything you can write down is appreciated! It doesn't have to be completely filled out) I will compile answers and suggest some strategies to help your hallway.

I know your time is valuable!
So please know that whatever you can do is greatly appreciated. I will also be posting things in your hallway/ stopping by to simply try to catch people in more convenient ways.

And please feel free to let me know if there is anything I can do!

Thanks so much for your attention!

Sincerely,
Rachel M. Foxhoven
