:: Wincing a little, Keelah leaned back in her seat and sipped at her tea. Despite the best efforts of the Za’s medical team, she still felt like reprocessed targ droppings... but at least she was still *alive* to feel that way.::

:: Thanks, she was sure, to a timely extraction via transporter. She really did have to do something nice for the people that had remained aboard for their part in that.::

:: For now, though, she had something else to attend to.::

Rhani: Computer, start recording.

:: A beep from the computer acknowledged her command, and Keelah took a moment to get her thoughts in order.::

Rhani: Captain’s log, Startdate... 239407.07. Despite what appears to be the universe’s latest attempt to kill us all, everyone has been recovered from the Hocktin surface and treated for the viral infection identified by the science team. That was, it appears, the easy bit.

There appears to be a deep division within Hocktin society. The scientific and technical portions of the community seem eager to investigate the possible benefits of contact with the Federation, the military, or parts of it, anyway, seems... less keen.

A *lot* less keen, in fact, since it was them that kidnapped a number of our personnel.

I’m in two minds about recommend about further contact with the Hocktin. If it goes ahead, it’ll have to be *very* carefully done... and a way to dodge the health issues will also be required.

:: Keelah paused for a long sip of tea as she thought for a few seconds, lining up what she wanted to say next.::

Rhani: Whoever does it, though, it’s not going to be us. Or not likely, anyway. Apparently someone noticed that there is a flaw in the Chariot-class’ computer cores. Nothing *major*, of course... unless it happens to drop out in the middle of a critical situation. And to make it even more fun, it’s a shipyard job to fix.

Net result, the Za is being recalled, with our mission to carry on exploring the frontier on indefinite hold.

I hope they get someone else out here. There’s too much left to see.

:: She sighed, shook her head, and reached out to tap a control on her desk that ended the recording.::

Rhani: ::muttering:: Dammit.
