((USS Vigilant-A: Bridge))
Tagren:
I am glad to see everyone in one piece. Were you able to rescue anyone from the
station?
::She noticed the look on Diego's face. Knowing his background and the
circumstances they faced, well, she was quite certain she knew what was going
through his head.::
Herrera: We have Romulan evacuees in Cargo Bay 2. Irina just went to check on them.
Tagren: Good...
::A simple, one-word response but there was so much more behind it. She was thankful that they were able to pull at least some lives before the station turned into space debris. The whole situation wasn't exactly fitting together in that moment to her but she imagined, soon, it would be clearer once she had more information. It didn't matter who was at fault, what the Romulans were hiding and/or scheming, and why the Andorians were blasting at them...::
::...what mattered, right now to her, was the safety and welfare of her comrades and that they were able to save at least some lives this day.::
Herrera: How about you? Is everyone from the central section still in one piece?
::She nodded with a small, weak smile.::
Tagren: Yes. In one piece.
::When he turned his attention to the helm, Ari closed her eyes and pinched the bridge of her nose. Her cheeks felt hot, flushed. Gathering up her hair, she pulled it up into a ponytail and moved over towards the First Officer's chair, careful to not trip over anything.::
Herrera: Ki'Kay, set a course for Deep Space 6, warp 8. I think we've been in Romulan space for long enough. ::He stood from his seat.:: Meanwhile, I'd better get my report submitted while all of this is fresh in my mind. You have the bridge, Ari.
Tagren: Aye, Captain.
Eerie: Good idea to get it all down now. What a mission.
::Her gaze
lifted up and moved over towards the Brikar, which caused her to smile. To her,
in this moment, there wasn't a truer statement that could have been spoken. It
had been quite the mission, full of a little of this and that.::
Udas: ::jokingly:: Let me know how the seat feels, First Officer.
::Her attention shifted to the Andorian at the Science station. The words caused the right corner of her mouth to turn up. She couldn't help but remember the situation they had faced on Prak Zel. Her, Eerie and Udas. Fighting their way through a mess of Sulibans, trying to reconnect with the Captain's team. Both men had earned her respect during all that. It was a shared experience that she would never forget and felt that it created an invisible thread that tied their lives together.::
::No matter where they were, even years down the road, she would always consider these two men friends.::
Tagren: Oh, I will.
::She grinned at him before lowering herself down into that chair (which was mighty comfortable) and taking a moment to breath. Her feet began to throb as she leaned back and started to access reports from the side console. All this First Officer stuff was still new to her but she learned, right then, that it was coming more naturally than she originally thought.::
Herrera: =/\= Herrera to all senior staff. Report to the ready room in 30 minutes. Herrera out. =/\=
::Unexpected but... it had been a major mission... she figured that it was probably best if they went over everything sooner rather than later anyway.::
((FAST FORWARD THIRTY MINUTES))
((Main Bridge, Deck 1, USS Vigilant-A))
::Ari continued to comb over reports, trying to make sense what she was reading. As she read more and more, diving into the specifics of the battle and some of the reports from fellow crew members that had walked the station with her, it was starting to make a little more sense.::
::Thirty minutes ticked away pretty quickly though and, before she knew it, she was standing to make her way towards the Captain's Ready Room. She looked over to see Udas smiling over to her, causing her to smile too but hers showed how tired she really was in that moment.::
Udas: Care to join me, Commander?
Tagren: Why, of course, Lieutenant.
::Her smile broadened.::
((Captain's Ready Room, Deck 1, USS Vigilant-A))
::The pair moved into the room, with Udas, in pure gentleman fashion waving Ari in first. She walked over to sit next to the Captain and, as she did so, Udas sighed.::
Herrera: Response
Udas: ::coyly:: Me? No, never.
Herrera: Response
Udas: Tough day, sir. That's all.
::Ari nodded.::
Tagren: Agreed.
::It was all she could say, still processing through the events that had recently unfolded.::
Herrera: Response
Udas: I am still struggling with it, to be honest. Andorians...
::It hadn't occurred to her until just then on what exactly was going through the young science officer's mind. Having been blinded by the lives that were lost and everything else, she neglected to realize what kind of impact this would have on one of their officers. She wanted to say something, something reassuring, but wasn't quite sure what to say. The sound of the Captain's voice caught her attention as he replied.::
Herrera: Response
::A few more members of the senior staff poured into the ready room. Soon, the newest Engineer, a beautiful woman by the name of Avery, started to talk with Udas, which also attracted Pavlova. Ari just directed her focus on her PADD, reading more reports as she waited for the rest of the staff to arrive.::
