As Rivi and Franz walked away, Roshanara took another sip of water, her green eyes following Franz. Some part of her didn't want him to go... and was that the slightest tinge of jealousy she was feeling as she shifted her gaze towards the Betazoid? She waved it off, its effect seeming to dissipate as the two continued to walk farther away.

Teller:  So...yeah...that's my father.  Apparently.

Vanlith teased back.

Vanlith: So I guess that's your father ::Slight chuckle to her voice::

The younger Teller motioned for an attendant to come over and then quickly unloaded all of the drinks off the tray onto the side table.

Rahman: ::watching Teller:: Ahem... I hope you're not on duty later.

Ukinix meanwhile covered his mouth with his fist, snickering.

Vanlith: I didn’t mean it badly Sir. It’s just different.

Rahman: Well… your father seems to be acclimating well, Mr. Teller.

Choking on his drink, the chief engineer cleared his throat before replying.

Teller: That's one word for it, Captain.

Ukinix: Ah, Dads.  My Dad would have cracked a handful of really bad jokes by now and whinged about the replicated Terran wine.

Vanlith: Well my father would have never been like that.

Roshanara nodded at Vanlith. Her own father likewise.

Rahman: Any plans?

Teller: I'm planning to take a bit of my accumulated leave so I can get him to my sisters on Luna.  After that, I'm honestly not sure.  But from the look of things ::watching Franz feeding a giggling Rivi a piece of sushi across the room:: he'll land on his feet.

As Ukinix took another big drink, Roshanara wondered if now was too early to close the bar. She didn't want a repeat of the Ketar V pub crawl tonight.

Rahman: And how about you two?

Vanlith: Response

Ukinix: ::Looking at Roshanara:: Um, actually Captain, I’ll be doing a Teller and mostly working through shore leave.  I was invited to Betazed by my grandmother who’s there at the moment, but… escorting Rivi reminded me that Betazoids have some interesting customs ::finishes off champagne::.

Vanlith: ::chuckling:: well I’m not sure I’d complain. She is rather stunning tonight.

Blake: Response

Roshanara turned to see that her first officer had finally arrived along with their new mission ops/strat ops officer, Lt. Commander Leix.

Rahman: Commanders, so good of you to join us.

Blake: Response

Rahman: We were just discussing Betazoid customs.

Blake: Response

Rivi and Franz returned to the group, and the Betazoid woman warmly greeted her cousin.

Vataix: Good evening, Blake!

It was still a bit strange to Rivi that Sky preferred to be called by her surname by her friends and family. It just seemed so impersonal.

Blake: Response

Leix: You started the party without me?

Teller: ::smiling:: Sorry Peri, but if we hadn't started you couldn't have arrived fashionably late.  Besides, this is a celebration - Zaaia - this is my dad, Franz.  Dad, remember the young woman Jan used to look after?  Well, she's all grown up now.

Franz: ::Eyes wide:: You’re Zaaia?

Leix: ::turns to Franz and hugs him:: I was glad to hear you’re safe. I know Geoff was worried.

Franz: My, how time flies.  Your parents with the Leix’s?

Leix: ::smiles wanly and nods:: Detan and Maia’s daughter, yes.

Franz: I remember now.  Jan is a good man.  With the interference here we haven’t be able to contact him yet.  But ::smiling:: he did tell me that you and Geoffrey would make a lovely couple. ::To Rivi:: Maybe we don’t need to find my son an eligible Betazoid noble after all.

Teller: Thanks for that, pops.

Ukinix: ::To Attendant, raising finger, choked voice:: Ah, water? ::slight cough::

Vanlith: ::smiling:: I’ll take another Risian Mai Tai please ::quietly:: if you could make it a double that would be great.

Rahman: oO Definitely should close the bar. Oo

Blake: Response

Leix: ::nods at the others with a smile:: Good evening, all.

Rivi offered a hand to the red-headed woman.

Vataix: Hello, I'm Niarivi Vataix, daughter of the Eleventh House of Betazed. Most people just call me Rivi. ::glances at Blake:: I've been enjoying getting to know more of my cousin's colleagues and to see her ship.

Blake: Response

Vanlith: Good evening Zaaira. It’s nice to see you again.

Ukinix: ::takes sip of water, still slightly choked voice:: Hey, Commander ::small cough::

Teller: So, let me guess - you were in an arm wrestling contest with your PADD, and the PADD won?

Leix: ::rolls her eyes:: Yes, yes. I got caught up in work.

Teller:  You could always do what I do, give my *Assistant Department Chief* all the PADDS I don't want to fill out.  ::Teller turned with a wicked grin::  Speaking of, Wil, how's that fuel consumption report coming?

Ukinix: I, um, gave it to Crewman Phan’ta’go.  He was looking for something to do.

Vanlith: At least it wasn’t me ::chuckling::

Teller: Response

Leix: So how is everyone?

Vanlith: ::taking a sip of her just arrived drink and smiling as it went down:: I’m ok. Enjoying an excuse to let my hair down.

Any: Response

Franz: Captain Rahman, if I may ask, what are you treating us to this evening for dinner?  In honour of your ::smiling at Rivi:: lovely guest.

Roshanara glanced over at Teller's father and was lost for a moment.

Rahman: oO What, did he say something? Oh! Oo Why yes, of course. As you might have already sampled from the table over there, our galley has prepared a dinner tonight featuring a wide variety of dishes from across Earth's largest continent, Asia. There should be something to please every palate.

Vanlith: That sounds lovely Captain.

Any: Response

Vanlith: ::Taking another sip from her drink:: Well I think after far too many years in a hotel any sort of entertainment I get to see is fantastic.

MacKenzie: ::raising her glass:: I see I got here just in time. Good to see you all.

The captain looked over and nodded.

Rahman: Good evening, doctor.

MacKenzie: ::to Teller:: At some point before you leave this evening, I need a word.

Teller: Response

MacKenzie: You could say that…

Teller: Response

MacKenzie: Well, shall we be seated for dinner?

Rahman: Yes, I do think it's about time.

The captain stepped forward to address the other officers who'd gathered for the evening.

Rahman: Attention all, if we could all take our seats, I think we can begin. And please, sit wherever you'd like.

Roshanara herself walked over to her usual spot at the head of the table. After taking a seat, she waited for the attendants to begin passing out the first course. She sat back in her chair, watching the rest of the officers and guests shuffle to their seats. It was interesting to see just how people would arrange themselves, a sort of social experiment. Tristam had offered to come along if she really wanted him to, but she knew the Rodulan needed his sleep. Besides, she needed him well-rested for other activities later this evening. They had a date on the holodeck to go ice skating.

(OOC: At this point, besides maybe an occasional toast, I imagine the rest of the scene being like a real dinner party where people break up into their own chats in their sections of the table depending on where they are sitting. Don't feel the need to reply or tag *everyone* in the room, just those around you.)

Someone had walked up to her, and she looked up to see the Veritas chief medical officer staring back.

del Vedova: Response

Rahman: When did you get here?

del Vedova: Response

She smiled and patted the seat next to her.

Rahman: As if. Sit down before I glue you to this chair.

del Vedova: Response

Rahman: So what have you been up to this shore leave?

del Vedova: Response

Rahman: You packed yet?

Del and Tristam would soon be going with her to Krios Prime. She'd booked the tickets for the quantum slipstream liner, and they'd be headed out of the Shoals next week to first catch the transport that would take them to Cait Spacedock.
