Cmdr. Kelrod: Not a goodby, but a farewell

With the ship docked at the station and the crew facing their separate ways, Kelrod and Parker had had a curious relationship and he's sad to not work together with someone as able to manage the ship's needs as to face an intrusion team or lead a charge of an assault team. They've forged a mutual respect and the moment of separation was not foreign to them, but that doesn't make it less emotional.

Kelrod: It's been an honor to serve with you, both as your Chief in security and as a colleague while you're in Ops.
Parker: Thank you. Have you decided where you want to go from here?
Kelrod: I've yet to decide about my future, but I have some offers on my table.
Parker: Well, if you are like most of us, you got at least a years’ worth of leave time stacked up…
Kelrod: Yes, I've thought of that too, besides, I've found someone to share it so I'll still have to think about it, those five years had had quite a toll on us. Any suggestion?
Parker: My advice? Take your time. Spend some time with someone you care about. Recharge your batteries. If you decide to visit Earth, you’ve got a place to stay.
Kelrod: That's very kind. I'll have it in mind as I don't know many places on Earth.
Parker: Don’t mention it. For all you did for me, that’s the least I can do. Fair winds and following seas Commander…
Kelrod shook the man's big hand and left to say goodbye to others. He's going to miss that ship, its crew and all the memories he'll leave behind. The Veritas was quite a tough ship that has proved it's worth in peace and in battle. The torch of the Veritas will shine within him from now on and help him in his next adventures.
