((Barracrab Pub - Bupirninyirring main settlement))

At the mention of another round, Antero eagerly finished off what was in his glass. He wasn’t about to miss out on a refill.

Alentonis: Response

Flynn: The hospitality is much appreciated. Don’t find this everywhere. ::He gave Wil a friendly bump on the shoulder.:: Glad our fearless leader here led us to you.

Ukinix: ::offering hand:: I’m Wil, I’m from Freo.  Well I was, until I joined the Veritas two years ago.

Kelly: Sandgroper, eh? I'm Diana, born just outside Albury-Wodonga myself. Migrated to Kidman early last year, and I think I'm here to stay. Space travel just didn't agree with me.

Antero gave Wil a perplexed side eye at being called a ‘Sandgroper’, but dismissed it with a smirk when the man seemed unphased. A question for later….

Alentonis: Response?

Flynn: The beer here is awesome. Brew it yourselves?

Kelly: Nah, mate. Import from Havley. We just don't have the equipment.

Alentonis: Response?

Flynn: Hmm ::He looked to his friends:: We should get some to bring back to the Veritas.

Alentonis: Response

Ukinix: I think there’d be strong representation to Starfleet from this settlement to request we never come back if we did.

Kelly: You could try, but I think half the colony would have take issue with it.

Perhaps Antero was too used to a homeworld with heavy tourism. People who were willing to come in and buy local fare were celebrated on Risa. He supposed things would naturally work a little differently out here. He gave a little ‘worth a shot’ shrug.

Finishing off his plate of food at record speeds, Antero gave it a little push and gave his mouth a final wipe before sitting back, the most comfortable he had been in a long time.

Flynn: I have never had a parmo, but it sure was good!

That prompted a snort from their host that told the Risian he had stepped in it again. He gave an apologetic smile with raised hands. More training would certainly be needed if he ever decided to sign on as a diplomat.

Ukinix: ::Chuckling:: Well it’s just as accurate as “Parma”, I guess.

Alentonis: Response?

Having regained her composure, she glanced back at the three blokes.

Kelly: Maybe we just need to come up with an entirely new name for 'parmigiana'.

Ukinix: I’ve a suggestion.  “Bloody delicious”.  ::Finishing beer:: Cheers.

Flynn: You can call it whatever you want, I’ll still be happy to stuff my face with it.

Alentonis: Response?

Kelly: So how long is your ship on Kidman for?

Ukinix: A few more days I think.  ::Cheekily:: They’d better not leave without us.

Flynn: At least we wouldn’t go hungry.

He rested a hand on his full stomach. He was stuffed, which might not bode well for the remainder of their ride...

Alentonis: Response?

Kelly: I don't think I've seen a Starfleet ship in my life. Pirates are one thing -- Federation military though? Nup.

Antero set his gaze on her. Never seemed like a long time. He supposed he still had a lot to learn about how things worked out here.

Ukinx: We’re not military… wait, you’ve seen pirates here?

Alentonis: Response?

Flynn: Didn’t give you too much trouble I hope.

Kelly: Eh. That big tower your lot installed gives us early warning for unidentified ships approaching the planet, which provides us with enough time to hunker down. It happens maybe once a year, if that? They're looking for resources you'd expect to find on planets like Shadow's Edge. Township of fifty people don't exactly have much worth taking, though, so it works in our favour.

Alentonis: Response?

Ukinix: How do you get on without so much tech?

Kelly: We're fully self-sustainable. Sometimes the summer comes to bite us in the ass, though. We've just come out of a nasty drought. This is the greenest I've ever seen Bupirninyirring.

Ukinix: The place is stunning.  It’s been absolutely beautiful riding around here.

Flynn: It really is. Has a certain charm to it. I hope we can make it back before too long.

Alentonis: Response?

Ukinix: Well, as much as I’d like us to get on the beers, we’d better get on the bikes.  ::Standing up:: We’ve got a campsite to ride to.

Kelly: Ah yes, I suppose we do. ::He pat his stomach with a satisfied smile.:: Hopefully I can keep all this down.

Kelly/Alentonis: Response?

Ukinix: Thanks so much for opening up the pub for us, Diana.  ::Cheekily:: Awesome parmos.

Flynn: ::Chuckling:: Yeah, I appreciate it. This has been memorable.

Kelly/Alentonis: Response?

Ukinix: ::To Diana:: If you’re interested we could beam you over to the Veritas before we leave.  I’d be happy to give you a tour.

Kelly: Response

Saying their final farewell, Antero offered a polite half bow and followed his friends back to the bikes.

Alentonis: Response?

Ukinix: ::Picking up bike helmet:: I reckon you could fry an egg on our helmets.

Flynn: ::Smirking:: Probably scrambled the way we ride.

Alentonis: Response?

Off they went, riding the last leg of their trip to the campsite. This time, quite a few less hops and mad dashes from the Risian. His full happy stomach had a lot riding a smooth trip….
