(( Bridge- IKS  B’Rakh ))

Tedious duty is the scourge or a warrior, and K’Jul kept his forces sharp during the long voyage with several drills which were more for keeping them busy that it was for their proficiency.. For the most part, it worked, his crew singing songs as they knew once this task was completed, they would be headed to the homeworld, and then, no one knew…but they would see home once again.

Sitting in his command chair on the B’Rakh, K’Jul stared out into the mess which comprised this area of space, him running his tongue over his freshly sharpened teeth. Looking at the chronometer set above the darkened bridge, he saw that it was time to check in. Nodding to his First Officer, a female officer named N’Huk who had done this routine so often during this voyage that no words needed to be said between them…they already knew how this was going to go. With a nod, the view on the screen was replaced with the visages of the bridge of the Veritas and the bridge of the T’Kuvma. As he figured, Bagorgh was the first to speak...

Bagorgh: =/\= Let me guess.  Nothing has happened, we have not seen anyone for kellicams, and sensor range is still limited. =/\=

K’Jul: =/\= Despite the silence, we are ready…=/\=

Parker: =/\= As are we…=/\=

Bagorgh: =/\= What is the status of the baktag prisoner!  =/\=

Blake: =/\= Enjoying Sick Bay. =/\=

K’Jul allowed a chuckle to himself. Perhaps the prisoner had angered Captain Rahman, or the large human named Parker. Either way, he would have enjoyed seeing the pe’taq in extreme discomfort…however, his dream was crushed by Captain Rahmans’ next statement…

Rahman: =/\= He's evidently not been feeling well. =/\=

Parker: =/\= He is being cared for.=/\=

K’Jul: =/\= We would have let him soak in his own filth.=/\=

Bagorgh: =/\= ::Fierce scowl:: =/\=

Once it was just Rahman and K'Jul, the captain of the Veritas shook her head.

Rahman: =/\= There's an old Earth saying: "No news is good news." Let's hope it's that way for the next three hours. =/\=

K’Jul: =/\= If not, it will give us something glorious to speak of! B’ Rakh out. =/\=

The view on the screen returned to the opaque environs of space. A few seconds later N’Huk  spoke…

N’Huk: Commander…the Veritas is launching probes out into the void.

K’Jul: I wonder why…

He already knew the answer. Starfleet  always liked to have the most room to  prepare for battle, whereas a Klingon was always ready, and disappointed when it did not come. N’Huk spoke…

N’Huk: They are launching probes, Commander. Most likely to increase the range of their sensors.

K’Jul hurumphed…

K’Jul: They should let battle come to them, then destroy the targ dung for their insolence….

Alarms started ringing all over the bridge, and the lighting went to battle red. It was time…

K’Jul: BATTLE ALERT! REPORT!

Tactical Officer: Forty three small vessels Commander! Weapons armed and ready!

Finally. The attack they had been waiting on, the one in which he planned to deliver a glorious victory to the Empire, providing proof that officers and ships out here were absolutely not a waste, and this would give Commander Bagorgh the opportunity to prove herself in battle…

K’Jul: Helm! Take us straight into the main formation! Tactical! Open fire!

The B’Rakhs’ disruptors and torpedoes ripped into the approaching fleet, with the Veritas to his starboard side, and the T’Kuvma slightly aft and to port. This formation allowed them to literally decimate the path in front of them, leaving only wreckage. Of course, a battle would not be a battle if the enemy did not fight back, and the return fire did indeed begin the pepper the Bird Of Preys’ shields, with K’Jul almost being thrown from his seat with the last vicious volley. A conduit behind him exploded, and he could smell smoke as they made a violent turn to port, then corkscrewed back to starboard, passing underneath the Veritas, the enemy doing its best to wear down his shields and armor before he was overwhelmed. As his ship shook under withering fire, he knew the T’Kuvma should have been covering his aft port quarter, but from the beating his ship was taking, Bagorgh was either dead or disabled, but even with that she should have hailed him to come to her aid. The ship rolled hard to starboard, and a bright flash from the rear of the bridge brought a new set of alarms…this was battle in all its glory and should he lose, Sto’vo’kor was still his. If he won, glory would have to wait a little while longer, but he would have a new song to sing…
