((The Big Blue Giant - New Macau - Antor II))
Parker: One more thing, Sawbones…
Wong: Yes?
Parker: You are going to be one hell of a CMO one day, once you get everything all done. I know you will. You have the drive, the determination…and I have no doubt you will be successful. If you fail,::smiling:: I will be…displeased…
Wong: Thank you. I promise you that I will not fail. I wholeheartedly intend to serve those under my care with my utmost loyalty.
Hannibal smiled. Wong was going to be good, and he was glad that Wong was going to take on this task and conquer it, in true Klingon fashion…
Parker: I know you will Ikaia…
Wong: I have a certain philosophy about the crew under my care. To me, they are part of my ohana. My Starfleet family. Everyone becomes a part of it and even if I don’t see them for a while, they should always know they are still part of my ohana. Nobody gets left behind and nobody gets forgotten.
Parker: That is a good way of thinking. ::smiling: a very Klingon way of thinking…
Wong: This includes you, Commander.
Parker: Me? Well, I appreciate that. Although I gave you hell, you came through, and you came through in spectacular fashion…
The night continued on, with their very attractive waitress bringing them their poison of choice. A few hours and several drinks later, and the party going on around them, Hannibal was feeling pretty good, the light buzz he had was putting in a pretty good mood. However, even in the dim light Wong was beginning to not look so good…
Wong: Something’s….. Something’s wrong…. ::Hic!:: Why do I…. I feel like this…..?
Parker: Could it be the beer?
Wong: I just…. I just had one…. Ha…. My head feels like soup….
Could Wong be a teetotaler? He’d never met a Klingon who wasn’t a serious drinker, but Wong was no ordinary Klingon. At least for the moment, he wasn’t trying to sing war songs…
Parker: Sounds like you have had your fill of beer, at least for now. Maybe I best settle up and get you back to the ship.
Wong: response
Parker: You don’t drink much, do you?
Wong: response
Hannibal chuckled. It was time to call it a night. Hannibal called the waitress over and he spoke…
Parker: Thank you for a great evening. I’ll take care of my tab now…
The waitress seemed taken aback by Hannibals’ request to settle up. She shook her head…
Waitress: Tonight was on us. For what you and your people did. You gave my relatives a new chance at life. The boss feels the same way.:: Looking at Wong:: Is he okay?
Wong: response
Waitress: The two of you have been drinking the best stuff we have. That beer was one hundred proof. You’ll find nothing better or stronger out here. ::Looking at Hannibal:: and that whiskey is one ninety.
Hannibal knew it was strong stuff…his mouth was numb and he felt good. Reaching into his coat pocket, Hannibal pulled out more than enough credits to not only pay for their drinks, but give her a nice tip as well. He spoke…
Parker: We appreciate it. We really do. But I also know that liquor, especially good liquor, is hard to get out here. We do appreciate the hospitality. Express my thanks to your boss.
Wong: response
The waitress took the credits, and smiled as she spoke…
Waitress: Thank you.. Thank you for everything. My name is Harriet, by the way…
Parker: Thank you Harriet. I have one more favor to ask…
Harriet: Sure. What is it?
Parker: As you can see, Sawbones here is a little incapacitated. You got another way out of here?
Harriet: Sure. When you are ready, let me know…
Parker: How you feeling Sawbones?
Wong: response
