Arthur had one last thing to do before he was finally settled into his office. He was cutting it close too, he had his first appointment aboard a starship in just a few minutes. But Arthur understood the importance of atmosphere and constructing a feeling of place. Far more than stations, Arthur noticed that starships had the tendency to feel a bit sterile, especially decks like Deck 5. So he had spent his time extensively decorating the interior of his office. Artifacts from Bajor, souvenirs from both his stints at the Academy in San Fran, trinkets from Denali Station, even things from DS9. There was just one more item to hang, a painting of home, the skyline of Jalenda City that his mother had painted. It would go up on the wall right above the chair he sat in during counseling sessions. And at last, he was done. He took a moment to admire the art and let out an accomplished exhale.

But then, there was a chime at his office door.
oO Or just beginning. Oo
Arthur went to his chair and picked up his PADD that was laying on it. He examined the screen.
oO Yep, Ensign Janai Zol. It’s time. Oo
He went to the door and opened it with a whoosh. Arthur smiled and stuck out his hand not holding the PADD for the Ensign to shake.
Strathmore: Ensign Zol, welcome, thank you for taking the time to talk.
Zol: Response
Arthur gestured her inside and towards the chair across from his own and the coffee table between.
Strathmore: Can I get you anything? I’m told my replicator got some new recipes from the region.
Zol: Response
Arthur laughed.
Strathmore: I have no idea. I thought you might know. But please, take a seat. I want this to be a safe place for us to chat.
Arthur took a seat in his own chat and pulled up Zol’s file on his PADD.
