(( Lounge, Mission Pod Level B, USS Chin’toka ))
Doucet: Yup! I have no idea who put all this together but I consider them a genius, honestly. A lot of the music is from Earth, so I assume they were humans. Some of the songs are from Vulcan and Andoria, though, and of course, the computer itself can play anything stored in the ship’s library.
Dasal: Hum I’ve never heard Andoria music. Note for self to look up later… What kind of music is your favorite? Or what would you pick to sing?
Doucet: Are you asking me to choose? ::grins:: You might not like my tastes.
He looked over and shrugged a bit. Didn’t matter what they picked he was sure he wouldn’t know what the song was unless they magically had stuff from his home.
Dasal: I’ll sing whatever you pick at least one. Just no holoimages, I don’t need blackmail on my first day.
Sylvie chuckled and shook her head before accepting the PADD. She flipped through it idly and landed on a song from a band that apparently performed in the 1990s, just over four hundred years ago. She picked a song at random.
Doucet: “I Want It That Way” by the Backstreet Boys. You look like you would have fit in with them.
The doctor held out the screen for him to see before confirming the choice. He fumbled around with the mic a bit before getting into the song.
He thought he could totally pull off being a Back of the Street Boy. I just needed more leather, it looked like. He was embarrassed and took a moment to get into, however the point of it was just to roll with it, so… Closing eyes and just jumping in. He gave his all.
Dasal: You are… my fire… the one… de-si-er, believe… when I say. I want it that away.
Dasal made a brave attempt at the song, stumbling through the words. It was a dramatic performance, complete with missed notes, half-audible words, and … interesting gestures and facial expressions. At least it was entertaining, seemingly more to him than her honestly.
She clapped politely at the end of the song and as he breathed and tried to hide his bright red face. Well he was going regret that tonight while he was laying in bed but in the moment it was fun.
Doucet: Good job, Korin. Karaoke might be your calling. ::chuckles:: I wouldn't suggest you go and actually join a boy band though.
Dasal: What, you don’t think I should quit Starfleet and join a band? I think I would do amazing!
He awkwardly shuffled down and took the deepest of breath, that took more out of him than he thought. Must have been the nerves.
Dasal: You wana blow me away? ::Offering the mic::
Doucet: Oh no, I don’t do karaoke unless I’m drinking too and right now, we’re still on duty … ::holds her hand up:: slow as it is.
Dasal: Oh… oops, I guess you are right. Guess you owe me a date then. ::He gives a teasing wink:: Oh a drink sounds heavenly right now though… any drink! I’m not trying to drink drink on the job.
Doucet: Sure, maybe next time we’re both off or one of the crew parties. For now, let’s go back to Sickbay, aye?
Ah, shot down right away. Ya crew party sure. His poor heart. And he was over it… He smiled and nodded as he tried to escort her back.
Dasal: Allow me to escort you lady- Doctor. ::Holding out an arm:: Right this way.
He bowed and offered an arm to her to escort her. He got to the turbolift just fine but then got a bit turned around and Sylvie had to escort him back to sickbay.
Deepest of sighs, time to get back to work.
