(( Flashback - 22 Months Ago, 240106.11, Fusion, Downtown, Denali Station ))

Kayvaan writhed on the floor of the restaurant Fusion. The Mazarite’s jaw was broken. He had been humiliated by that Orion scoundrel and laid flat in a violent assault after calling her a “pirate”.

oO Someone get them! They must be punished! I demand justice! Oo

This restaurant was experimental, so when the Orion struck him so brutally, the patrons thought it was performance art. The roar of applause covered up the groans of his suffering. His enemies had escaped. He watched as her Terran accomplice followed the Orion as she fled the scene of the crime.

oO Stop them! Assault! Assault! Oo

The only sounds that Kayvaan could make were slurring attempts at speech.

Kayvaan: Muh jaw! Muh jaw!

Soon, the staff surrounded him.

oO Finally someone remembered me! I used to be the boss of all of you! I demand respect! Oo

They lifted him up by his lapels. Finally, from the kitchen, the so-called “Culinary Director” Pyrin had arrived.

oO Usurper! Oo

Pyrin leaned in so he could be heard over the applause.

Pyrin: You’re done, Kayvaan. Between this and your other abuses, I’ll make sure you can’t get work between here and Mazar!

oO No! No! Noooooooo!!! Oo

The staff then proceeded to carry him out of the restaurant. The doors opened and out Kayvaan was thrown onto the chrome streets of Downtown Denali. The impact knocked the air out of him. He laid there struggling to breathe, but not a person stopped to assist him. They simply “ooooh”ed and “aaah”ed and stepped over him into Fusion.

oO Misery! They don’t know this isn’t a show! Help! Help me! Someone! Anyone! Oo

He watched the doors of Fusion swing open again and out strode a Terran in a long red coat. It was so striking, it snapped Kayvaan out of his pain for just a moment. He stuck out so much that Kayvaan was surprised that he did not see him in the restaurant. The man looked frustrated and his head swung on a swivel down both sides of the street. Kayvaan followed his eyes, but saw nothing but the crowds of Downtown. The Terran mumbled something under his breath. Kayvaan groaned again. The Terran looked upon him. His face was full of thoughts. Then, suddenly, all the frustration vanished from his disposition and the warmest smile Kayvaan had ever seen appeared on the stranger’s face. He leaned down towards him.

Morgan: Do not worry.

Kayvaan’s brow furrowed.

oO What is he talking about? Oo

Morgan: I am a part of an organization that promotes justice. Your life is about to get much better.

The man held out his hand. Kayvaan hesitated. Who was this man? What did he want?

oO If things are too good to be true, they probably are, but I’ve lost everything. My life couldn’t get much worse… Oo

Kayvaan took the stranger's hand. The stranger’s smile only grew.
