((Starbase 1, Deck 53, Upper Mezzanine))
Seleya: So tell me about Angosia III, what are your people like?
Dasal: Well, it was better than Angosia One and Two! Kidding. Well—actually, I wasn’t. They weren’t habitable. Two is all lava and volcanoes. As for my home, I would’ve said it was a lot like Earth. We had lots of oceans and lots of land. My people were really into science. They were also very peaceful, though also really ashamed of their past. I felt like they let that hold them back.We had a lot of automatic machines and such because everyone was so science-focused. Hmm, we had a lot of naturally beautiful things, but we weren’t the most outgoing people, which was a shame. So no river-rafting teams or anything like that. What was Khanda like? I’d never heard of it, though, as I said, I was still learning about new species. Like, did you know Romulans and Vulcans were different? It took me an embarrassing amount of time to learn that, and I learned it in a biology class.
Seleya hummed in thought. She was assuming the doctor meant Taithros, but she didn’t mind talking about where she grew up nonetheless.
Seleya: Well Khanda is a small city, located in a valley, named after the ship that carried my clan to our new homeworld of Taithros. But it’s a wonderful city, quiet, and mostly away from most of the typical tourist destinations. But I grew up in the outskirts, so it had more of a small town feel.
Dasal: Oh sorry, Taithros. See, still learning.
Seleya chuckled as he seemed to catch on with the name of her homeworld. But she couldn’t blame him. There were not too many in Starfleet.
Seleya: Taithros as a whole is very beautiful. Many I am sure would find it very quiet, as our population size isn’t typical of most Federation member species. Lots of wide open nature without a soul living there. It is a growing tourist destination. For better or worse.
Seleya took another sip of her tea, deciding it was best to not go into her opinion on that with the new ensign. Nor would she want to chase him away from visiting, so long as he was respectful.
Dasal: I would like to see it someday. Sounds a lot less boring than my home.
Seleya: I suppose new worlds are always much more exciting than our own homes. But it is nice to return to a quiet home from time to time. But another reason why we joined Starfleet
Dasal: Response
Seleya: However, I do apologize, but I do have to return back to my studies. It was nice meeting you, and I look forward to working with you.
Dasal: Response
Seleya: Good luck with your move, and perhaps once I am done with all of this we can meet again.
