After completing the IVF procedure, the Xirons notified their families of the pregnancy, resulting in a large number of messages. One of them was from a couple that had signed an agreement for children with Ghee’looth, as part of the drive to reverse the declining Andorian population in the galaxy. After Is’Kah found out, zha surprised her partner with zhen acceptance of more children.

Xiron: And here I was worried how you would take all this.

Is’Kah: I know how much not having one of your parents around bothered you growing up. I won’t let that happen to one of yours. Besides, they will have to get to know their siblings.

Xiron: Well, let’s not get too ahead of ourselves. I am not sure I will go through with it. It has been a long time. Maybe their situation has changed to the point they don’t even need a shen surrogate. They were still missing a viable thaan last we talked.

Is’Kah: Could, but guessing by your reaction, you don’t believe that.

Xiron: Well, we are on shore leave. First thing in the morning we will get clearance to take a shuttle to Ginan Colony for a few days.

Is’Kah: They’re that close? That’s perfect.

Xiron: The colony is carved deep inside an ice moon. According to their letter the conditions are pretty rustic. So, you may want to replicate some cold weather gear.

If Ghee’looth was warning zhen that it was going to be cold, it had to be just like Andoria. It caused a shiver to run down Is’Kah’s spine.

Is’Kah: Oh. When you say rustic, you’re saying the colony is literally made of ice and has an average temperature of -10 °C, right?

Xiron: I am sure there are heated habitats, but let’s plan for limited replication. Think survival training on Europa.

Closing zhen eyes, Is’Kah let out a slow breath while pondering if zha was going to wear a space suit or simply be bundled up with so many layers zha would end up barely able to move.

Is’Kah: Can we sleep in the shuttle, at least? I’d like to sleep without wearing ten layers of clothes.

Xiron: I could just pack my insulated sleeping bag and keep you toasty the Andorian way:: She winked in the human fashion to her lover::

Nodding, Is’Kah smiled at Xiron. Zha’ll will make sure to pack a thermal cap that would protect zhen ears from the chill.

Is’Kah: Alright, sh’za. I’ll start packing for us.

Xiron: It will be like that time we climbed Widow’s Peak and stayed at that monastery, one last honeymoon before we are parents.

Is’Kah: That sounds amazing, sh’za.

Ghee lowered her voice.

Xiron: We are just going to straighten out my obligations to my friends. I will not commit to anything without your agreement.

The petite Trill hybrid placed zhen hand on Ghee’looth’s cheek while pressing their foreheads together. Across their bond, Is’Kah projected telepathic antenna brushing against zhen partners. Zha wanted to show that zha was with her no matter what.

Is’Kah: That is one of the many reasons that you are my t'hy'la.

Zha held the touch for a few seconds before sliding off zhen partner’s lap, allowing her to shut the screen off.

Xiron: We better get some sleep. We have a long journey ahead of us.

Is’Kah: That we do.
