Ensign Reine'X - The K'tsélai Game

The three Orion friends finished the powerboard race and were noticed by the nearby spectators. The locals invited them for food, drinks, and games.
The group was about to play a ball game (similar to Earth volleyball), with slightly different rules. Normally, the K'tsélai would use their snouts, but the Orion women were allowed to play with their hands.
Reine’X: Right. Shall we?
She now prepared for the game. There wasn’t really much to do, but she did a little stretching anyway. She already felt warmed up from the powerboard race, but here she would need to use different muscles.
She had never played this volleyball-like game before, much less the K'tsélai version.
Zarax: Ready
Maha stayed behind, but cheered them on.
Tani: Let’s go, Starfleet!
Báisè: ::Chuckling:: It appears you brought your own cheerleader.
Setting the ball on her nose, Tǎ looked at her partner.
Tǎ: Service!
Tǎ threw the ball high, and Báisè sent it over the net. To everyone’s surprise, Zarax easily sent the ball back into the air. Perhaphs thanks to the gravity, the game seemed easy for the Orions.
Tani: Nice dig!
Reine’X: Ugh…:: Reine’X leaped forward toward the ball that was coming her way.
Zarax: Get it, Reine’X! Use that height advantage!
She launched herself into the air and drove the ball toward Báisè. He leapt to block it but missed. Tǎ dove after the ball and managed to save it, though she got a mouthful of sand in the process.
Báisè: Nice save!
Tǎ: ::spitting sand out:: Knock it back!
Reine’X: Why do y'all like eating sand ..?::she said playfully, looking at Maha.
Zarax : Response
Tani: Response
Next serve. This time, Báisè started.
Reine’X: I got it!:: she exclaimed as she ran toward the net to save the ball.
She was still figuring out the best way to hit the ball. She realized she could put spin on the ball quite easily when she struck it; adding rotation to control its flight. It was an interesting sport; she would have to check next time she is on Risa to see if they had volleyball available.
Zarax : Response
Tani: Come on, Starfleet! You got this!
Báisè: ::chuckling:: No love for us?
Tǎ: She’s rooting for her friends. I would too. Now pay attention!
Reine’X: Also, we are going to prove that we are the better team,:: she said teasingly, laughing.
She was enjoying this game and was getting slightly better at it. The gravity also helped.
Zarax : Response
Now it was their turn to serve. Reine’X, standing tall at almost two metres, stepped up and powered the serve over the net. The ball shot across rather quickly, but the other team handled it cleanly and sent it back. Zarax was closest to the ball, with a perfect chance for a spike.
Reine’X: You got it, Zarax! You can do it!
She cheered her friend on. Zarax seemed to pick up the game much faster than Reine’X, and they were making quite a team.
