(( Main Sickbay, Deck 5, USS Valkyrie-A ))

With all that was going on in their Sickbay between Charn’s “sweet talk”, Sherlock’s comparatively refreshing straightforwardness (they always enjoyed that part of Sherlock, honestly), and the two other medical officers being more concerned about the one patient than anyone else in Sickbay, Sylvie was about ready for some of that Fume herself. Not only would it get rid of her headache for a bit, it might actually help mellow her increasing level of irritation with everyone.

Charn: Response

Their internal reaction to Charn’s response was one of such irritation that it made Sylvie pause and reassess her emotions. Being irritated with people wasn’t new, especially the smartasses like Charn, but the doctor could typically keep it under control and maintain a mask of cool professionalism. Why wasn’t that working as well here? Was it that radiation? The physical symptoms would exacerbate normal emotional responses, especially the negative ones.

Maybe that’s all it was.

Strathmore: It looks like their metabolisms might process the adrenaline differently so we might have to compensate or use an alternative, but the real difficulty will be piercing the living stone and metal that composes their exterior. But I imagine you already have a solution for that.

Sylvie nodded. They did have a solution for that: find a part of the body that wasn’t armored like a tank.

Doucet: Oh good. That confirms what I suspected. Adrenaline might not work for him after all. We’ll need to find something different.

Reine’X: Response

Doucet: Yes, yes, that’s fine. Talk to them after you get them awake. Make sure they know where they’re at.

Strathmore: We could try animazine.

Reine’X/Charn: Response

Sylvie raised an eyebrow at Charn, then looked at the other patients.

Doucet: If you know any of them, that’d be great. Names, at least? Favorite drugs of choice?

Reine’X/Charn: Response

Strathmore: I can synthesize it if need be.

Sylvie shook her head with a sigh. Of course.

oO Well, we can synthesize it in a way that doesn’t further the addiction, at least. Oo

Sherlock: But only on an as needed basis.

Strathmore: I have a PADD here. Need me to look up anything?

Doucet: Not that I can think of right now, thanks.,

Reine’X/Charn: Response

Strathmore: Romulans, I know. I can speak Romulan too. Not that we’ll necessarily need that but still.

Sherlock: Speaking it's one thing, talking it is another.

Doucet: Yeah, just help me wake up the rest and we’ll go from there.

Reine’X/Charn: Response

Strathmore: I can do that, certainly.

Sherlock: Okay, ::looking at Strathmore:: Ensign, you and Doctor Doucet, I want the two of you working on waking up those patients.

Sylvie looked up and over at the diplomatic officer with a momentary frown before nodding. What did Sherlock have in mind that she needed to state the obvious?

Doucet: Of course, Commander.

Reine’X/Charn: Response

Strathmore: response

Sherlock: Ensign ::looking at Reine'X:: you and I, we're going to have a chat with ::nodding towards Charn:: Mister Charn.

Reine'X/Charn: response

Sherlock: Doctor Doucet, we're going to use your office.

The redhead would have given an affirmative response if Sherlock had given her even the slightest chance at it, but no, the commander whirled around and waltzed into the office with Charn and Reine’X in tow. Sylvie waited until the window darkened in an indication of privacy mode being engaged before turning back to Strathmore.

Doucet: Righty then. Shall we? That animazine is a good idea for the Cullum. I’ll grab some. You get the other two Caraadians and see if they need anything. No more than half a cc each at first. If that doesn’t do it, go up a step. Let me know if they start needing more than that.

Strathmore: Response

Sylvie nodded, then handed him the hypospray he’d need. The animazine wouldn’t need long for her to grab as it’d be replicated, but they would take a few moments nonetheless to go over how much a Cullum would need. The one they had on the biobed was the small side for one, barely fitting on the biobed. They weren’t that much taller than humans on average, if she recalled right, but definitely noticeably wider. The additional weight needed to be accounted for, so that meant a higher baseline dose.

With hypospray in hand, Sylvie approached the comatose Cullum and looked him over thoughtfully. They turned around briefly to visually check on Strathmore, making sure he wasn’t in trouble. They gave him a questioning look and a thumbs up, a nonverbal combination that usually got understood as “everything okay?”

Strathmore: Response

They smiled and nodded. With that settled, it was time to find a softer spot on the mass of flesh and stone lying on the biobed. Cullum usually didn’t wear much, which made a spot check much easier. As Sylvie suspected, the area around major joints looked to be the best spot so they picked a spot and administered the initial dose.

A slight stir, then nothing. It was time to go higher then.

Doubling the dose proved to be the solution. The Cullum awoke with a start. Their bulk was too much to be fast, but Sylvie still took two steps back for safety.

Cullum: Ugh. Where am I?

Doucet: You’re on the USS Valkyrie-A, a Starfleet vessel. We’re in orbit of Tavros III. We found you comatose in a container floating in space. How do you feel?

The large being turned and looked at Sylvie and their surroundings for a long moment before answering.

Cullum: … I see. Do you have water? I am very thirsty.

oO Well, he’s taking it well enough. Oo

Doucet: Of course. I’ll get you a glass. Just stay here. I’ll be right back.

The Cullum nodded slowly and leaned back on the biobed. Sylvie hoped the initial lethargy was just an aftereffect of whatever put him to sleep, but time would tell. In the meantime, they would get a tall glass of water and check in with Strathmore at the same time. They tracked him down and made sure he wasn’t in the middle of something before speaking.

Doucet: Mission accomplished on my end. I’m getting our new friend some water. How are things on your end?

Strathmore: Response
