Strathmore: Absolutely.
Zol took another sip of her chocolate.
Zol: I am still somewhat confused, however. Even if your Survivor's Guilt hypothesis is true, it only explains things from my point of view, right? It doesn't really explain why the Commission back on Trill would see fit to let me Join with Zol.
Strathmore: I would never claim to be an expert on The Joining, but the Commission doesn’t just evaluate just candidates, they evaluate fit, no?
Zol: ::Sighs:: Then again, I don't think I can get the answers to that question without going back to Trill at some point. Or sending some kind of message to the Commission, but that sounds kind of weird, doesn't it? "Hello. I got a great gift from you people. Why would you give me that?"
Strathmore: I understand that, but do you really feel like you need an answer?
oO And institutions like that rarely provide answers of that type. Oo
She drank the last of her hot chocolate before tapping her fingers on the table.
Zol: Counselor, to be quite honest, this conversation has left me with a lot of thoughts, and I'd like to unpack them both by myself and with you, at a near date. Do you have any suggestions for what I should do in the meantime? Anything specific? Meditation, walks in the holodeck, journaling? I know it's a bit strange to ask, but I'm feeling a bit lost.
Strathmore: It’s not strange at all. They’re all are great suggestions, but I always recommend journaling first and foremost.
Zol: Response
Strathmore: Because it provides an exceptional avenue for self-expression, self-analysis, and self-awareness. ::He held up his PADD:: I wouldn't ask you to do something I wouldn't do myself.
Arthur chuckled. Laugher had the ability to ease nerves in a session. It was something he utilized for himself as well as those he tried to help.
Zol: Response
Strathmore: Do you mind if I give you some homework?
Zol: Response
