V’Nille: That makes sense! Most science and engineering types I’ve met settle into a specialty at some point simply because it gets harder to know everything. Science especially. I know some engineers can get away with being more generalist and flexible. I imagine the fact that all the systems have to work together makes that easier to maintain.
Hughes: ::Nodding agreement:: That definitely played a part in my decision for sure Commander. Things on Veldora Prime tend to be so….. predetermined. I am kind of looking forward to just seeing what surprises life has in store for me, you know?
V’Nille: ::nodding:: Yes, I can see that. I am not familiar with Veldora Prime but if you’re looking for a place to be surprised at, you could hardly do worse than Starfleet!
Hughes: I feel like you’ve been so patient in answering all my questions, ma’am, did you have any more questions about me?
V’Nille: Hmm, I don’t want to be overbearing.
Hughes: Well, some questions may be a bit more… difficult… than others, but I will try to answer any to the best of my ability.
V’Nille nodded before finishing off her latte.
V’Nille: Very well then. Tell me about Veldora Prime. It’s a colony, I take it?

V’Nille: Ah. That explains why you feel like things get predetermined there. That’s the kind of place that benefits from planning.
