((Junior Officer’s Quarters, Deck 7, USS Valkyrie-A))

Gideon couldn’t stifle the chuckle as he watched Arthur’s face at the consideration of such a loud and chaotic environment. He had the feeling his new roommate grew up in a very well ordered and structured home. He could sense there was a portion of his childhood that Arthur didn't want to discuss, but such trust was built over time

oO Oh, I’m so sorry Arthur. Your poor life is never going to be the same now that we’re friends. Oo

Hughes: ::he smiled:: It’s funny how looking at your own through the lens of another really changes the perspective, isn’t it?

Arthur took another sip of his drink with a smile.

Strathmore: How did you survive?

Gideon blinked and then laughed. It was a loud and rich sound, genuinely entertained by the reaction of his new roommate…. his new friend, dare he say it.

Hughes: ::wiping the tears of laughter away from his eyes:: You know it’s a good question. Looking back on my childhood, we were all either tormenting one another or protecting each other. And even still, I know I would be who I am today without each and every one of them.

Strathmore: Well, I hope to make your stay here less… chaotic.

Hughes: And I will endeavor to do the same for you, starting with ‘no more impromptu room barbeques’.

Strathmore: Response

Hughes: Now that you mention it, there is something I could use your help with.

There was a twinkle in his eye and a large grin on his lips.

Strathmore: Response

Hughes: I could use a chaperone to show me around and introduce me to our fellow ensigns. Surely, since you’ve been around, you could show me where all the cool kids hang?

Strathmore: Response
