(( Near the port of Tseraiq, Qareluun, Aelkuun ))

As they materialized on the planet Aelkuun, they found themselves directly in front of the locals. The K’tsélai were a furry species, shorter than Reine’X. They reminded her of a River Mustelid from Qo’noS (Klingons also used the nickname, “river-stalking water beast”). Although the  River Mustelids were faster, more muscular, and very territorial, with larger teeth and claws than the K’tsélai.
The Caitian officer waved at the lead K’tsélai.

V’Nille: Hello. Are you ::sounding out the name carefully:: S’Relaai?

The Aelkuun River Mustelid nodded in agreement.

S’Relaai: Yes. You are … V’Nille. These are the others you mentioned on the call?

V’Nille nodded and pointed at each in turn as she introduced them.

V’Nille: Yes. This is Isara Aleron. She is the captain of our ship. This is Reine’X, who works in our medical department. The one with the big backpack is Nelis Orla, who works in our operations department.

It seemed the alien understood perfectly. The universal translator was working.

S’Relaai: I see you and greet you openly. Welcome to the city Tseraiq on the continent of Qareluun. I am S’Relaai, an envoy appointed by the K’tsérai. Pleased I am to show you our world.

V’Nille: Thank you. I am eager to learn more of the K’tsélai and your history.

Reine'X: Thank you, and it is a pleasure to meet you.

She had no idea what the common greeting gesture was for these creatures.
oO Shall I gesture the Vulcan salute? Or shout really loudly “nuqneH”? Bow? Oo
Neither choice seemed like an appropriate show of respect for the people of Aelkuun. She then chose the only gesture she had seen S’Relaai use.
Reine’X slightly nodded her head.

Aleron/Orla: Responses

S’Relaai: We are outside of the city. Based on what V’Nille told me, I was not sure how this … “transporter” ::the word obviously unfamiliar to him:: technology would look so I suggested this place to be safe. It is not a long walk to the port. I apologize for the inconvenience.

V’Nille: That makes sense.

Reine’X: No inconvenience at all.

Aleron/Orla: Responses

Reine’X looked around her and saw slightly colorful, low-rise habitats. The small city was bustling with life.; the K’tsélais were going about their business, undistracted. The beach and the port looked comparatively dull. Orions perceive less contrast in green-heavy environments (and, in comparison to humans, may perceive better contrast in warmer or non-green ranges). Hence, Reine’X deduced that it was probably just her perception making the beach and vegetation appear dull.
The port was also bustling with life, with ships coming and going. They all looked somewhat old-fashioned to Reine’X, which she found odd, considering the rest of the city seemed very modern.

S’Relaai: I am curious if there is anything you wish to see first?

V’Nille looked at each of her crew, giving them a chance to respond to the question.

Reine'X: Definitely the market, the city itself. Meeting and talking to more of your people, if that’s alright with you.:: she smiled, and ever so slightly nodded her head:: And then I’d like to try whatever you personally enjoy doing for fun. In your off hours, let’s say, when you’re not working. Any food,  hobbies, or places you would like to share with us?
oOI hope the universal translator gets the word 'hobbies 'Oo

This wasn’t just a request out of the blue. It would help her understand the species better; by observing them up close and unfiltered.. seeing how they behaved. And learning more about their everyday life.
