(( Main Sickbay, Deck 5, USS Valkyrie-A ))

Aine figured, from what she'd heard of Charn, he wasn't going to like her taking control of the situation. But she needed to know what was going on. She'd been down on the planet dealing with other things and had zero context. And anything he had to say would only serve to confuse her more without hearing all other perspectives first.

Sherlock: I'll happily listen to anything you have to say. But first, I want to hear from my officers.

Doucet: They were beamed aboard by Commander T’Ama following a rescue from being trapped inside some sort of container. They were unconscious and entirely unresponsive. After running some tests and attempting to wake Charn here with a neural stimulator, I injected him with some adrenaline. That woke him up. He’s been quite talkative and coherent, but not the most cooperative with our questions.

Reine'X: The other six patients are still unconscious, Commander.

Strathmore: That should bring you up to speed.

Sherlock: Thank you. ::looking at Charn:: Now, with that out of the way, I'm Commander Aine Sherlock. Diplomatic Officer of the USS Valkyrie. And I've been looking for you.

Charn: Little ol' me? My, my, my. I suddenly find myself so important.

Doucet: Yes, Mister Charn, your charm is what brought Commander Sherlock here. Ensign Strathmore, did you find that adrenaline?

Aine smiled, rather fakely, and nodded. Clearly everyone was at least on the same page with the sarcasm.

Charn: Oh lucky me, I now have the ability to be imprisoned in a medbay populated by incompetent children, and can draw the ire of women in tacky uniforms. I can really pave my own way in life now. ::To Strathmore:: Careful over there, son. There's lots of nasty chemicals in there. You might melt your face off.

She kept the rather large and toothless smile going, but the raising of her eyebrows and widening of her eyes told a different story. He was right though, she was a woman. And he was drawing her ire. But that was about all he was right about so far.

Strathmore: Thank you, Mister Charn, I appreciate your concern for my wellbeing. I very much like my face unmelted. ::Beat:: Doctor, I got them.

Doucet: Good. Just grab two for now. They don’t all need their own hypospray.

Reine'X : All the unconscious patients are stabilized, Doctor.

Strathmore: Good to hear. We’re almost ready.

Sherlock: You know ::beat:: Mister Charn, you are not detained. You haven't committed any crimes on our ship that I know of. You can go back if you want. Just say the word.

He really couldn't though, she wasn't about to let him leave...

Charn: No way. Not gonna do it. I tell you, and then you say thanks and you turn me loose. I'm supposed to be unconscious in a shipping container. What do you think they'll do to me, eh? Don't you care even the slightest bit what will happen to me? You're no different from the A-- from them.

...and she figured that'd be his response.

Doucet: Oh, we were going to wake up the rest of them, Commander. Would that be an issue here?

Sherlock: ::not taking her gaze off of Charn:: No, Doctor. I don't believe there's any issue with that. Wake them, please.

Reine’X: Response

Strathmore: Am I belaying an order or delaying an order?

Charn: So what's the in it for me, huh? You gonna whisk me away into your shiny Federation? You're going to save the poor, backwards, miserable man? "Surely, he must yearn for a life in the utopic Federation. We'll house him, feed him, educate him. We can make him into something!"

Sherlock: We're not going to do anything you don't feel comfortable doing. That's not what we do at all.

Strathmore: I can assure you, you’re not being kidnapped.

Reine’X/Doucet: Response

Charn: No, I won't be your little backwards pet. Held aloft so you can feel good about yourselves, a gilded cage. Listen, my life is garbage here. But it's my life.

Strathmore: I can assure you I am in no cage, not even a gilded one.

Reine’X/Doucet: Response

This guy was miserable. But, like he said, he was content with living his own life. And that was what she was going to use.

Sherlock: Mister Charn, we just want to talk, that's all. We're not here to change your way of life. But we can help, if that's what you want.

Reine’X/Doucet/Charn: Response

Strathmore: You have freedom of choice, moment, and rights, Mister Charn. I won’t bore you with the statues, but I can cite them if you do not believe me.

Sherlock: Even non-Federation citizens are afforded the same rights as citizens on our ships.

Reine’X/Doucet/Charn: Response

Strathmore: I can tell you from experience, the Federation acts in good faith. I can assure you wholeheartedly.

Reine’X/Doucet/Charn: Response

Sherlock: Like I said, we just want to talk.

Charn: response

Sherlock: I'd just really like to know more about you and how you came to be in contact with some of our officers and how we can help you.

Reine'X/Doucet/Strathmore: response
