I’m not sure how to feel about our initial foray into the Solerian Sector. While we managed to leave Stillwater Exchange intact, there were some tense moments toward the end. I’m still not exactly sure why. It was clear that while the Exchange was welcoming, there was some subsurface tensions there. No one was willing to talk about the powers in charge, initially. And those who did seemed to vanish. Fortunately, we were able to recover Charn and a few others, including one of the Caraadians, and we’ve arranged for safe passage for any of them that want to leave the ship.
The suppression field that the Ayalon Concordance has developed seems to have several uses, from enabling their stealth mode to scrambling sensors, but it also had a deleterious effect on most of the crew. Even myself, although I was offship for most of the events. The locals have developed a counter-agent to offset the headaches, which they don’t really seem to be aware of the source. They’re calling it fume, and our medical team has confirmed its usefulness, but also has provided some medical cautions around its use as well.
Lieutenant Commander Ada and her team did a brilliant job coming up with a counter to the field, as well as Lieutenant Is’Kah Xiron's brilliant tactics in penetrating the stealth mode. However, Ada and team did have to take part of the QSD offline to accomplish this, so I’m asking her to refine the method to avoid having to take the engine offline. I don’t plan to use the QSD often, but we are remote enough from the Federation that it’s going to be useful.
Our recent scans revealed a nearby Class O planet near a K-type main sequence orange dwarf star, which is marked as ‘Aelkuun’ on our charts. I decided we should check it out as there are indications that there may be sentient life there. I think it will make a nice change of pace after the recent situation.
On a slightly different note, it appears that Starfleet Intelligence has decided that my intelligence gathering mission isn’t important enough to warrant an Intelligence Officer on board and they’ve temporarily reassigned her. They’ve assured me she’ll be back, but I’ve seen this pattern before. Hopefully, someone there sees some sense and sends me a replacement officer. Of course, Lieutenant Commander V’Nille is more than capable of doing the job herself, but I am sure she’d be grateful for some assistance.

Isara sat at her seat in the center of the bridge. The truth was, she was dying to get away from the bridge for a little bit. She was tired and she had a ton of paddwork to complete. Not to mention the fact that her social life was suffering. She’d been a CO before, of course, but it was different this time. She felt more responsible, as if more were riding on her shoulders this time around. And that lent weight to her because Isara liked to think of herself as a social person and now she felt like she had to maintain a certain distance from her crew. Distance that she really didn’t want to have.
oO A people person, I believe the humans call it. Oo
Lennai: Response
Aleron: Very good, Ensign. Drop us out of warp and establish a standard orbit around the planet.
