Now it was V’Nille’s turn to strike back: she slashed forward with the harpoon. Unfortunately, her opponent successfully dodged it.
Reine’X: One can tell they are experienced fighters,:: she said with both admiration, and a slight envy.
V'Nille: Response
At first,
Reine’X’s opponent followed her lead; or so she thought; and they circled each other. She realized too late that he had fooled her: just when she felt she had everything under control and was awaiting his one massive strike, he surprised her with sudden, quick movements: He jumped, turned with ballerina-like grace, and let out a high-pitched shriek. Without even closing the distance to Reine’X, he swung his weapon in a small, controlled arc, sending it near her head, too close for comfort. She had to dodge quickly (though her movement was not as fast as she would have liked, being still stunned by the effortless control he had just demonstrated-- oOWho wields such a heavy weapon with so much ease?!?Oo) The blade almost grazed the Orion's left cheek! Only just barely.... ! She could feel the rush of air close to her skin.
oOWhew, that WAS close!Oo
Her dodging of the attack brought her closer to her partner. It seemed V’Nille was also in a similarly unfortunate situation and had to heavily dodge a strike. Now, both Starfleet officers were back to back.
An opportunity for a quick exchange of ideas presented itself.
V’Nille: I can see why they’re trainers. How are you faring?
Reine’X: Hanging in there.. just barely!
V’Nille: Got any ideas or are we just going to keep the split for now?
She realized it was a little too late to come up with strategies. For one, they didn’t have the time to discuss it; for another, their opponents could hear them.
Reine’X : Let's stay close this time. Change opponents. Be quick on your feet. Anything else you can think of?
V’Nille: Response
Reine’X talked quickly, moving her feet even quicker. She thought that changing the opponents now might make more sense- her two blades were perfect for the sword and buckle , and V'Nille's harpoon would work better for the massive doubleaxe. Or so she hoped.
The Orion moved her feet quickly, swinging her weapons: whoosh whooooosh swish..... trying to distract the K'tsélai. She was looking straight into his eyes while head bobbing for distraction (never losing sight of his weapon though) and knew she had to aim for his soft spots. Groin, neck, face. She wanted to surprise him, but given how experienced they were, that wouldn't happen. For now, she had to just dodge his attacks and wait for her perfect moment to strike.
She could feel the Caitain's back, that's how close they were while circling around.
Reine’X was waiting for the perfect moment... Almost... Almooooost....
Her opponent took a swing at her, but because she was so busy moving her body in fast, almost dance-like movements, he missed her.
Reine’X: NOW!!
She exclaimed, which seemed to surprise both of the K'tsélai; a perfect moment to strike.
V’Nille: Response
Reine’X: Aaaarrrrgh!!!
She performed an unexpected, quick forward roll as she closed in on her opponent. Rolling underneath him, she jumped up behind him -- as high as Orionly possible-- and, with a battle cry, aimed for his neck.
It was glorious!

But it was all for nothing.
She only managed to hit his armor.
And now the K'tsélai was on top of her, gaining the advantage.
