Lt Commander T'Ama - Seems Illogical But Okay

T’Ama: Ensign Reine’X! Please have a seat. I’m Lieutenant Commander T’Ama. Welcome to the Valkyrie.
Reine’X: Thank you, sir.::she proceeded to sit down.
T’Ama: You’re not in trouble, I don’t think. I called you up here because there seems to have been some mix up with your paperwork, and you were assigned as a medical officer - but you have no medical training, is that correct?
Reine’X: I majored in Counselling.
T’Ama: A Klingon trained counselor?
T’Ama had run into one of those before. She reminded herself it would be illogical to assume both individuals were the same.
Reine’X: No, Sir. Starfleet Academy. ::beat:: Klingons do not have counsellors. In fact, studying medicine at Klingon Academy can be somewhat difficult.
Glancing up, she fixed the Orion with a penetrating stare. She had known a Klingon counselor - a real, full blooded Klingon who was a counselor. Came from some monastery on Qo’noS. She had tried out her Klingon brand of counseling on T’Ama once, which apparently involved trying to provoke her into violence and then trying to have her relieved from duty when that didn’t work.
This situation had resolved with her transfer to the Chin’toka on Frontier Day, but in retrospect that singularly awful experience was probably why she had never actually gotten any counseling for any of the traumas since.
And to that end, perhaps it was a good thing Reine’X had been trained by Starfleet instead of Klingons. A species as advanced and warlike as the Klingons not having medical care though…
T’Ama: ::slowly:: Right. That seems… illogical.
Reine’X showed no reaction to that and remained silent, waiting for her to continue. She dropped her eyes back to the PADD and tapped out the confirmation.
T’Ama: ::decisively:: Ensign Reine’X, your duty post is hereby reassigned to Counseling, effective immediately. Any questions?
