Three first contacts in three missions had to be record. Correction, two first contacts and one second contact in three back to back missions, with two of them in bioluminescent planets, had to be a record. The only thing better would have been if Harford could have seen the forest glow.
The tangled relationship between New Gaians and Nova Terrans took the concentration of most of the ship. At the same time, I, Commander DeVeau, and Lieutenant JG Nera Ay were caught up in the aftermath of the Nover Terrans' rejection of their citizens on a nearby moon.
The moon was a stunning mystery, full of genetic alterations and breathtaking scenery. The kidnapping by the Selen's security office Raeyen IV was less enjoyable even though it happened in a rainfall that made everything and everyone glow. The attack by a genetic mismatch of an oversized bird and venomous snake was less than enjoyable. Saving Raeyen IV from the creature helped ingratiate us with her, which ended the kidnapping. It put us in a situation to learn about the advanced cloning on Selene, and then a joint terrorist plot against Nova Terra and New Gia. Fortunately, this was a second contact, or sorts, allowing us to bring the sick from the underground lab to the Thor for treatment.
I will visit Raeyen IV before she returns to Selene, but I want to give the crowded sickbay crew time to work. Forty-seven ill people were brought aboard with an unknown illness. The doctors will have their hands full for a while. I am happy that returning the sick to their homes will give us a reason to return to the systems soon. The political relationships of the three worlds will take decades to sort out. If Starfleet can become a part of the new relationships forming between the splintered groups, they will have the benefit of Starfleet's centuries of experience in bringing people together. Starfleet might get an ally in this sector.

Divya rose from her chair and walked from her office to the Diplomatic Conference Room. This was one of her favorite conference rooms. She had finished decorating it just before they arrived in the system, and was proud that it had been put to good use. She was more than a little annoyed to see the mess it had become. How did diplomats manager to appear tidy but get crumbs everywhere?
