((Mission Specialist Office, Deck 1, USS Thor))
Sasch stood back and observed some of the changes that she had made to the former Startegic Operations office on the Thor.
~*~
About two hours after she had left Promontory, who had transferred her position from Helmswoman to Mission Specialist, she had received a message from the Operations Department telling her she had been assigned an office. After a quick search, she discovered the office had originally belonged to Strategic Operations, but since they weren’t at war, it would serve for her office.
The Russian was excited to train pilots again. She would always love flying, but this position also meant cross-training into Tactical, Operations, Logistics, and even Command..
After she had received the notice from OPS, Sasch gathered a few precious memories and a couple pieces of heirloom memorabilia and carried them to her new office. Arriving, she pressed her thumb to the access panel, and the door opened for her with a whoosh - almost as if it could sense how momentous a day this was for the petite, green-haired officer.

Now, surveying her office, it was still sparse, but it showed a glimmer of her personality. To the right of the door, there was a small set of shelves. On the top shelf sat a set of Matryoshka nesting dolls, a graduation gift from her mother. But these weren’t just nesting dolls, these were a historic representation of space flight. The largest of the dolls was a woman bearing a modern Starfleet insignia. The subsequent layers represented the insignia of the Enterprise NX-01, Voyager, The Discovery, and the smallest doll was a smiling cosmonaut in an old orange suit. She couldn’t look at the little cosmonaut without smiling — that grin was almost as wide as her own had been on graduation day.
Her other prized possession hung on the wall behind her desk. It was a display box of old flight patch collection. Her father had this one in his office at Starfleet Academy. Even then it has patches from the Soyuz, Vostok, NX-01, Voyager NCC 74656, her father had added the Sasch’s patch from Nova Squad, and now, she added a flight patch from the Thor.
The last thing she brought with her was a picture of her family which sat on her desk. This was a bittersweet picture. She needed to touch base with her father -- there were fences to mend. She also missed her mother and her siblings - especially Alexi and Eva.
It was still sparse, but at least it didn’t look like a Vulcan meditation chamber anymore, and she was sure that she would add new things as she grew both as a person and into her position, but for now, she was happy with the little way in which this office was her own.
But a chime on her PADD brought her back to the present. She had set an alarm to let her know when Meris had been aboard for three hours. She wanted to make sure that she introduced herself and that the ensign felt truly welcomed aboard.
((Outside of Meris’s Quarters, Deck 5, USS Thor))
It was an interesting dynamic. Sasch was a profound introvert yet she still obtained a great deal of pleasure from being around people one-on-one. She smiled as she walked up to the Ensign’s quarters. She touched the plaque on the outside of the door that said, “Helmsperson.” She had read that they were J’naii. She smiled. It cost nothing to be seen, and everything when you weren’t.
But after that brief moment, she signalled at the door and stood back to wait.
Meris: Response
When the door opened, Sasch was confronted with one of the brightest murals that she had ever seen. Blues, magentas, and oranges, all swirled and stroked across one of the walls in the Ensign’s quarters. It reminded her of some of the beautiful sunrises she had experienced growing up when her family took their yacht out onto the Caspian Sea. oO Vell zhat is a sight. Oo Quickly trying to recover her surprise, the Russian relaxed her face, smiled, and extended her hand.
Kreshkova: You must be Ensign Meris.
Meris: Response
Kreshkova: I am Lieutenant Sasch Kreshkova, former helmsvoman and current mission specialist.
Meris: Response
Kreshkova: I vanted to velcome you aboard. ::Gesturing to the mural:: Vould it be better if I come back at anozher time? You are still getting settled, No?
