((Everfree Tidal Hall, The Capital, Seda))
Excitement radiated in the air as Sevantha watched perhaps the largest showering of pips she had seen in her career beyond Frontier Day, with the pride of recognition and the humility of those who felt undeserving lingering in the air. Sevantha had many congratulations to give, but she had work to be done first, and she set gaze across the room.
Spirals of colorful tendrils swirled beneath her feet as she approached the table designated for their science and medical officers. Clad in a skirt variation of the dress uniform with knee-high boots, hair slicked back into a ponytail with a few long bangs left to frame her face, Sevantha, as usual, made sure she adhered to the dress code perfectly. In her arms, she carried four ornate boxes printed to resemble hand-carved, vibrant coral, tinged with pinks, oranges, shades of teal that she immediately set down on the hard light holo-projected wave-styled table that appeared. Sevantha was always ready for an oceanic theme.
Saa: Good evening, everyone. ::She bows her head respectfully:: I hope you do not mind an interruption in your conversation and are prepared for a little time in the spotlight.
DeVeau/Alveth/Nera/Taj’el/Tito (Optional): Response
Saa: First, we would officially like to welcome back Lieutenant Vitor Tito to the USS Thor, I believe Commander DeVeau and some ensigns left you a good deal of subspace phenomena to study for the next while.
Tito/Any: Response
The holo-projected wave whipped forward towards Sevantha and she picked up the box labeled Alveth.
Saa: Dr. Alveth, this was your first mission with us. I hope you enjoyed your introduction to the Gamma Quadrant.
Alveth: Response
Cradling the box protectively for a moment, she stared down at it before she set it down on the table in front of her. Pressing a button, the lid popped open towards her, maintaining a little mystery.
Saa: For your work with the scientists of the VX-LON-3 outpost, restoring their memories and helping them to return to their proper age, Starfleet presents you with both the Spliced Mainbrace Distinction and the Innovation Ribbon.
Alveth: Response
Saa: And naturally, we also present you with the First Contact Ribbon in recognition of your work with the UV entity that evolved into the being named Bio. ::She smiles warmly:: Congratulations Doctor, and thank you for your contributions to the Thor.
Alveth/Any: Response
Turning the box around for Alveth to see, the trio laid on a small teal cushion. Again the wave table sprung to life and passed her the next box, to which she turned to face another Commander, Alora DeVeau. Gently she bit her bottom lip as she held this box, already knowing the contents inside.
Saa: Commander DeVeau, it is my absolute pleasure to start by presenting you with the Department Chief Ribbon, in recognition of your leadership onboard the Thor.
DeVeau: Response
Slowly she opened the lid, keeping the box facing away from Alora, staring down at these next ones before looking up with a soft smile.
Saa: Commander, it is my immense pleasure to award you with the Starfleet Legion of Merit, for your performance even when dealing with circumstances that put your very life at risk, to see your mission through…
Sevantha swallowed, her smile muting at little.
Saa: And those very circumstances are also why I have in this box a Purple Heart for you as well. ::Spinning the box around, she offered it to Alora:: Starfleet and the crew of the USS Thor are lucky to have you on board with us.
DeVeau/Any: Response.
With a heavy exhale, Sevantha turned from Alora to Doctor Nera Ay, stared at him for a moment, almost right through him with a serious expression before she shifted towards newly minted Lieutenant Junior Grade Taj’el.
Saa: Lieutenant, your first mission onboard have already found yourself thrust into a mystery of medical science and discovery of new life. ::She takes the box:: First, Starfleet is proud to present you with the Spliced Mainbrace Distinction for excellence in your field of study, and the Innovation Ribbon for your work with Bio.
Taj’el: Response
Saa: Starfleet also presents you with the First Contact Ribbon for your discovery of the Bio entity, and… contributions to its existence.
Taj’el/Any: Response
Leaning in, she performed an exaggerated whisper to them.
Saa: Doctor Alveth and yourself should consider writing a paper on the experience.
Then she pivoted, her eyes lingered on Nera, the serious expression returning.
Saa: Doctor Nera Ay, rank Lieutenant, please stand.
She would give him a moment to do so, clutching the box tightly in her hands. .
Saa: Before I bestow you with any ribbons or awards, there is an important matter that I asked Captain Promontory to address directly.
Complete neutrality settled over her features, her voice soft though firm in her directions, studying him for a moment lingering.
Saa: As of today, Lieutenant, you will no longer be acting Chief Medical Officer on board the Thor.
Nera/Any (optional): Response
A smile slowly crept its way onto her lips, revealing the game afoot between them once more.
Saa: I on behalf of the command team of the USS Thor, hereby recognize you, Lieutenant Nera Ay, as our Chief Medical Officer. ::pausing and lifting a brow:: … Should you still want the position?
Nera: Response
Pride twinkled in the Lieutenant Commander’s eyes as she shifted her focus to the box in her hand, opening it up to face her so she could continue speaking up.
Saa: Sickbay saw no shortage of medical mysteries this mission among the scientists of the Outpost and among our crew, to which you diligently set your teams to pursue solutions with care, compassion, a willingness to listen to your patients’ needs and experience ::Smiles:: Which is why Starfleet awards you the Leadership Excellence Ribbon.
Nera: Response
Saa: And for the work Lieutenant Ral and yourself did to help our very own, Commander DeVeau, return to her stabilized age using a melding of medical science and engineering. I present you with both the Medical Science Ribbon and the Innovation Ribbon.
Spinning it around, she offered the open coral box to Nera, the three awards facing upwards at him.
Nera/Any: Response
With the boxes given out, Sevantha would deactivate the holo-emitter attached to her wrist for the occasion, and addressed the formally clad officers before her. Part of her wished to join the table she usually sat at, partake in the conversation, but she still had much to do and more awards to present. She also needed to make sure Herrick and Morro didn’t make the situation awkward for everyone around them.
Saa: Congratulations everyone and thank you so much for your work on board… ::she lingered after a moment:: And I look forward to the work we’ve yet to do as well. ::bowing politely:: Enjoy the drinks and the show to come!
DeVeau/Alveth/Nera/Taj’el/Tito (Optional): Response
Pivoting on her toes, the Betazoid counselor started her hunt for the newly minted Commander Herrick.
