Tito: Let’s get back, I have a feeling this Monster is related to the dead person.

Taj’el: I… concur. However, it did possess sharp scythe-like arms. Would it not have simply caused lacerations to the victim rather than strangulation?

Tito: Looks like we've got a mystery on our hands

The pointy-eared one took a few notes. Good, that was grounded, believable. In-character.

Taj’el: I would have said we have a hostile alien, but I suppose it is also part of the mystery.

Kreshkova:  Just like zhe fabric, too.   There’s a very logical explanation for all of zhis. Ve just need to figure out vhat it is.

Paws: Rhime rungry!

Sasch scratched the dog behind the ears with her left hand and slipped her right into a pocket.  She felt a bone-shaped…biscuit?  She pulled it out.  oO A dog biscuit? Oo  She tossed it up in the air for the dog to catch.

Tito: Where did you come from? I thought you had stayed put?

The dog entered into an elaborate pantomime of rubbing its starving belly, searching for food, not finding any, but finding something else.

Paws: Rhen rats rhy rhi round roo rguys!

Taj’el: Wait... I require clarification. What does this have to do with the alien and the deceased body?

From somewhere outside the hotel, a voice broke the relative silence of the set.

Extra:  Help me!  Help me!  Timmy fell down the well!  Someone help us!

KreshkovaVhat is zhat all about?

Sasch inched the door to the room open. The creature was nowhere to be seen.  Warily crossing the room to the window, she struggled to lift it until she realized it was locked.  oO Oops? Oo.  Then, undoing the latch, she pushed the window up.

KreshkovaVhat’s going on?

Extra:  I threw him down a rope, but he can’t pull himself up.  He’s stuck in the well.

Kreshkova:  Ve’ll be down as qvickly as ve can.  Tell him to hold on.

Tito: Timmy fell down a well? Who is Timmy?

Dun Dun!

Paws: Re run in re rell!

Taj’el: So now we must save Timmy?

Taj’el: A fall can be fatal. However, if there is still water present within the well structure, the primary risk would shift to drowning. That outcome would depend on the specific design of the well and the depth of the water reservoir.

Kreshkova: Ve need to hurry and help him.

(( Crime Scene-Outside, Studio 1, USPS Showrunner ))

The standard scene was set—dilapidated ancient infrastructure and something called a ‘well.'

The CSI team was already doing its thing as the trio (plus dog) approached. M217BS made sure to get a lot of establishing shots of the victim being pulled from the well and other bits of evidence. *foof* *foof* *foof* They'd make them B&W stills in post.

Officer: Detectives, Doctor, you made it. One victim. Eighteen-year-old Caucasian male. Presumed cause of death: drowning.

Tajel went over and examined the body.  Sasch stood back with her hands on her hips, watching the doctor work very much within her element.

Taj’el: Actually… there is no water in the lungs, and, much like the other victim, there is bruising around the neck region.

Kreshkova:  Zhat’s good vork, Doctor.  So you zhink zhey vere bozh strangled?

Tito: Response

Taj’el lifted the victim’s hands, they revealed paint transfer along with visible bruising across the knuckles and fingers. Holding it up so the others could see their findings.

Taj’el: This implies he fought his attacker, but I am uncertain about the significance of the paint. A proper laboratory, or a tricorder, would be required for definitive analysis.

Sasch reached into her pocket.  She thought it was crazy the types of things that just ‘appeared’ in there, but it was worth a try.  This time, she found a sample vial and a tool that looked like it could be used to scrape.

She knelt beside Taj’el and, unscrewing the lid to the sample vial, she used the other object to scrape the paint off of Timmy’s hands before recapping the sample tube.  Standing up, Sasch walked over to the Officer.

Kreshkova: See if you can send zhis for a sample analysis.

Officer:  Right away, Ms. Vinkley.

Tito: Response

Taj’el: It appears a rope was used to lower or dispose of the body into the well. That would account for post-mortem cervical trauma, consistent with a fall after death rather than a fatal injury sustained prior to placement. The victim was likely deceased before entry into the well. ::pause:: What is your assessment, detectives?

Kreshkova: Zhen who do you zhink it vas zhat called for help?

Tito: Response

Paws: Re need to rit up and rook for rues!

Kreshkova:  I zhink Paws is right.  Ve need to look for clues so ve can cue zhis up for zhe lawyers.

Tito/ Taj’el: Response

Paws: Rats rhat rhi red!

Kreshkova:  I zhink ve should head back inside to vhere zhis all started and see if ve can piece zhese clues togezher.

Tito/ Taj’el: Response

Paws: Rand a rack!

Kreshkova: Can’t you zhink about anyzhing ozher zhan your tummy, Paws?

Tito/ Taj’el: Response

Trekking back through the grass and around to the front of the house, the group made their way back to the hourglass-shaped staircase at the front of the old hotel.  The gallery was just through the entryway.

As they opened the front door, two voices could be heard.

Wickles:  Let’s go ahead and put that bust of Beethoven on the new pedestal.

Sasch led the group back to the doorway of the gallery.  She stood there looking between her friends and these new people.

Wickles:  No.  Let’s not put that there.  How about down here in this corner.

Mr. Wickles turned around and came almost nose to nose with Sasch.  His hand flew to his chest, and he exclaimed…

Wickles:  Pardon me.

Kreshkova:  I’m sorry.

Tito/Taj’el/Paws: Response

Wickles:  Oh!  You must be those mystery-loving sleuths I was told about.  Mr. Wickles at your service.  Actually, if you can catch whoever is doing this, you’ll be doing me quite a favor.

Sasch studied him for a moment.

Kreshkova:  Vell, I suppose zhat’s good to know.  Vhy vould ve be doing you a favor, Mr…

Wickles:  Oh.  I’m Mr. Wickles.  I’m the curator of this new gallery.  We’re going to be reopening the hotel and adding a gallery experience for an extra fee.

Tito/Taj’el/Paws: Response

Wickles:  Oh, Henry, careful with that paint.  Don’t go too thick.  If you do, it will take too long to dry.  I want to have it ready for when the Rembrandt that I managed to borrow for the gallery and hotel opening arrives.

At the mention of paint, Sasch’s head swiveled around.  The man … Henry … was rolling blue paint onto the wall.  Turning back to everyone else, she pointed her finger in the air and said…

Kreshkova:  Looks like ve’ve got ourselves a clue.  Mr. Vickles, how long haf you been planning zhis reopening?

Wickles:  No, it’s Wickles.  Wa Wa Wickles.

KreshkovaZhat’s vhat I said.

Tito/Taj’el/Paws: Response
