((  Arboretum, Deck 5, USS Thor ))

Dazra was many things. A plant mom was not one of them. Did they need enrichment? Water, sure, but did they need food? Dazra had been gifted another life to care for, and she was honestly concerned for it. She'd done her best with what she knew to do to care for it in her own way, but that hadn't been without its struggles. And now it was shedding petals. Part of her wondered if it was dying from her lack of care, or because it was depressed. Whichever it was, Dazra had opted to bring the potted plant to the Arboretum to "socialize" in whatever way plants did. She didn't understand it much. It was just a feeling she had. But the sight of the large redheaded woman in dark plain clothes looming over a small plant with a worried face was likely one interesting sight to behold. Which is what Alora would have beheld upon her arrival, sneaking up on her.

DeVeau: Hey Dazra.

Dazra jumped a bit at the unexpected voice behind her, turning with the plant in hand to see Alora waggling her fingers at her.

Kol: Oh. Hey Alora...

Dazra looked down at the plant nervously. Here was the woman that had given her the plant, and the evidence to prove its seeming neglect. She looked back up to the woman as she flicked her eyes down the path to where a somewhat familiar face was arriving.
Wyatt Ral.
Dazra had heard about him during her time aboard the Astraeus. Half-betazoid that survived the explosion in the Ops center, and was part of the team responsible for the survival of the crew aboard at the time.
Doubtful that the inverse was true, though. Dazra had only been a pilot then, and only for shuttles. Intentional, at the time, but now she was starting to regret not socializing more at that time.

DeVeau: Enjoying the arboretum?

The question was posed not just for Dazra, but for the latest arrival who was close enough to include in conversation should he desire it, but also far enough away that he could avoid it if he preferred.

Ral: Response

Kol: Nice to see you, Lieutenant Ral.

Intentionally, Dazra was overly formal in addressing him. She didn't have anything but his reputation to go off of (and his security profile) to indicate how he preferred to be addressed in informal contexts, and none of that was helpful right now.
So, she waited for him to correct her.

Ral: Response

She nodded at the correction, an apologetic expression in her features, before returning her attention to Alora.

DeVeau: If a ship has an arboretum, it’s automatically my favourite place to go.

Dazra looked to Alora just in time to see the sparkle of mischief twinkle in her eye.

DeVeau:
And I have to admit, as chief science officer, I get to have a bit more influence on this area of the ship.

Kol: Alora, why do I get the feeling you've done something cheeky?

Ral/DeVeau: Response

Kol: I mean, I guess? The Astraeus had one too, but I never got to see it. Er, rather, I never chose to see it. I spent a lot of time in the shuttlebays and lower decks. Didn't care much for socializing; it's hard sometimes.

Ral/DeVeau: Response
