((Sevantha Saa’s Counseling Suite, Deck 10, USS Thor))
Naledi took the remote but skillfully avoided any physical contact. At first, Sevantha suspected it was because of her own origin as a Betazoid. As a full Betazoid, her talents were beyond physical touch, but that didn’t stop people from avoiding physical contact. Sevantha elected not to wear gloves despite concerns, largely because she found gloves to be incredibly hindering to working biometric-based technology and PADDs.
Maybe Naledi didn’t like the feeling of human flesh also, or the third option, they were acting for her own comfort. Many humanoids did have an aversion to bugs and exoskeletons.
Saa: How long were you in the hallway before I came out?
Naledi: Crick Snap Pop Crack… Fifteen Minutes
Saa: Did anyone ask you to come in?
Before an answer could come, the environment shifted from the blue waterfall to a large to dry, hot desert, with surrounding mountains. The temperature immediately climbed thirty degrees, which surprised her a little. Moving her hand to her collar, she unbuttoned the top buttons of her uniform coat in response.
Naledi: Crick Pop Hiss Twinge Snap… My Apologies Commander, is this too warm for you?
Saa: It’s a little… what's the word, toastier, than I am used to.
Immediately the Xindi-insectoid handed the remote back, bringing Sevantha to tilt her head slightly at the action. Looking down at it, she considered Naledi’s motivation for doing so.
Naledi: Snap Pop Hiss… Please, I want you to be comfortable too.
oO Mustn’t let them know what I think Oo
Sevantha did not allow herself to show any shift of expression upon hearing the thought. Instead, she focused fully on the remote. She contemplated the options in this situation that would serve them both best. A faint smile touched her features as she set the next program. The warm sand remained. The atmosphere gave way to a small drop in temperature yet a more focused island heat. Distant waves rolled in as the two now stood on a nice sunny beach.
Saa: I prefer the compromise where we both can find a measure of comfort, the Hedeyan Arpeggio of Betazed has a surprisingly dry island heat during certain hours. ::She smiles:: I am aware Xindi-insectoids prefer heat, is it only dry heat or does a humid tropical work as well?
Her usual chair had largely remained the same, sitting dead center in the sand, with a large umbrella next to it to shade it from the heat of the sun.
Naledi: Response
Saa: Starfleet uniforms are jackets for a reason, I can simply unbutton it if I am too warm, ::She tilts her head:: Now we’ll worry about your physical exam in a little bit, as scans are relatively easy.
Despite not verbalizing it, Sevantha gestured with her hand towards a replicator disguised in the shape of a small local food tent Naledi could order from if she liked.
Naledi: Response
Saa: You are kind to be so concerned for my well being. ::She offered Naledi a soft smile:: But, it is my job to care about your physical and mental health, and something clearly happened on the way to sickbay.
Naledi: Response
