De Scheppes: Let's isolate those systems you mentioned, leave these two to sort out the appearance of our space whale's avatar before we begin speaking to the real thing.
Brodie: Response
Out of nowhere the holo began to speak.
Holo: Hungryyyy…I'm so hungry…
Kel: Well we know it has some unmet physical needs. ::turning back to the holo:: What can we get you?
Holo: Let meee (beat) be meee.
Kel: Pardon?
The holo of the Starfleet officer began to distort and morph, as if something inside was actively reshaping it.
De Scheppes: Does the creature have access to its appearance?
Kel: Daley, can we keep its influence confined to the holodeck systems?
Daley/Brodie: Responses
De Scheppes: Let's wait it out, at least for the moment, and see what form it settles on.
Kel watched astonished as the form morphed through numerous species and forms. It was searching the data banks for a form it wanted. Whatever this was, the idea of punching it was nearly off the table. Finally the shifting stopped at a form that was familiar, yet Kel could not quite name what it was.
Kel: What is that? I feel like I should know but…
Daley/Brodie: Responses
De Scheppes: (muttering to the others) It seems to have settled on the shape of a Xindi-Aquatic.
Kel: ::walking slowly toward the holo:: Hey that's a beautiful form you've chosen, does it work well for you? Can you tell us about yourself?
Daley/Brodie: Responses
Suddenly the holo shot forward and Kel only managed to fall backward onto the deck to avoid being hit. The holo whirled and thrashed through the holodeck.
Holo: Stop it! Cut it out! Arrgh.
It appeared that the creature was grappling with some unseen enemy.
De Scheppes/Daley/Brodie: Responses
Kel: Hey its o.k. What's wrong?
Kel hated to see beings suffer, and this one clearly was. Suddenly it stopped moving and a terrifying shriek emanated from it. As the shriek peaked, some kind of lightning burst from the holo and filled the room.
De Scheppes/Daley/Brodie: Responses
Kel turned and fell forward thinking he was about to be cooked. When he wasn't cooked he realized the energy was a simulation and the holodeck protocols had avoided electrocuting the team.
Kel got up slowly and walked toward the creature.
Kel: =/\=Kel to Bridge. Is anything happening up there?=/\=
Fargo/Kells/Rouiancet: Response
De Scheppes/Daley/Brodie: Responses
Kel knew it was stupid, but he was a doctor and this patient needed help. Walking through the storm he laid a trembling hand on the holo's back.
Kel: Please calm down. We don't want to hurt you (beat) we want to help.
The energy emanation subsided.
De Scheppes/Daley/Brodie: Responses
Holo: ::sobbing:: Let me out.
