((Transporter Room 1, Deck 1, USS Thor))
An unstable section of space and an outbreak of unknown type and cause. Truly the Tangle was a lovely place to live and work, though Vharo could've done without the trip. Unfortunately duty calls and she's been tasked with the protection of not only the Medical Chief but her newly albeit temporarily promoted First Officer during their investigation, Lady Luck is truly stone blind or maybe she just had a foul sense of humor.
Regardless there were discoveries to make, lives to save and an old instructor to impress. If she was lucky, hopefully this trip would even end with far fewer explosions than her last one.
Saa: Are you both almost ready?
Vharo: Prepared, Commander.
Vharo returned the smile offered by her old instructor with a solitary nod as she slipped the bag containing a small assortment of extra equipment over her head. Her off-hand went down to the phaser holstered on her hip, making sure it was secure for the fourth time since she'd arrived. Her glaze flicked between the pair of officers briefly as she settled her hands behind her back, finally content with the status of herself and the equipment.
Nera: Response.
Saa: Quick review, we’ll be transported to just outside the outpost’s designated quarantine zone, which includes not only their sickbay but overflow into several converted science labs in one wing of the outpost. ::Holding up her PADD:: We’ve been given access to the outpost’s medical files as well as security reports that might help with contract tracing or identify potential protocol breaches.
Vharo: I wouldn't be surprised if their security reporting slacked off given the situation, though there should be enough for anything odd to stand out prior upon review. Remote research outposts do have a tendency to be less concerned about such things on average.
Nera: Response.
Saa: Once we’re on the ground, I’ll start file reviews, and Dr. Nera I’d like you to start taking readings of the worst patients. We have a vague list of symptoms, but let's get our tricorder readings for confirmation. ::She turns to Vharo:: I want you to start with reviewing the security reports but also to keep on any officer keeping too close while we work, one symptom listed is agitation and our arrival could unintentionally escalate those early stage cases.
Sevantha stood for a moment, looking thoughtful before speaking.
Saa: We need to figure out if this is an actual contagion or something else. Their medical staff were the first known cases and some of those in the worst shape, which means we’re all they have currently. ::She tilts her head:: Any questions before we’re on the ground? ::Pauses and turns to Vharo:: And Ensign, as you’re our security expert, anything you want us to be mindful of as well?
Vharo: Was there anything noted in the original request for assistance that would be of concern besides the agitation symptom?
Saa/Nera: Response.
Vharo: Understood. As for my security concerns, I did have a three part speech on CBRN and exposure protocol but it would be wasted on the pair of you given your professions so I'll hang onto that for the next group. As such, I'll keep it simple. Do try and limit exposure until we have something more then nothing, adhere to the marked biohazard signage and don't wander off with people we don't know without saying anything.
Oo Gods, I just need calm for this one. We already did exciting, just give me boring. oO
Vharo continued to flick her gaze between the pair of officers as she finished her little speech. The uncomfortable irony that the two that stood in front of her had seen far more danger was not lost on the Orion, regardless their safety was her chief priority so she had to say it even if she still felt a touch silly lecturing her seniors on protocol.
Saa/Nera: Response.
