Trake was enjoying this aspect of being a CO. The crew seemed happy, they looked fabulous, and no one was shooting at them!
He came to a table that hosted a smattering of security officers, their intelligence chief, and the current and former helm officers.
Promontory: Now this is an august assemblage!
He brought a set of boxes forward and set them on the table.
Promontory: In addition to First contact and Legacy Ribbons you’ve already received, there are a number of officers at this table that need further recognition. Lt. Kreshkova, please stand. (beat) Reviewing your leadership in our last mission confirms our decision to move you to the Mission Specialist post. In addition to that, we’d like to formally recognize you with the Leadership Excellence Ribbon.
He passed over the box.
Promontory: In addition, your work planetside has earned you the Starfleet Investigation Ribbon and the Prisoner of War Ribbon. (beat) I’m grateful it was not too long a captivity.
He gave a twinkly-eye wink as he awarded her the ribbons.
Kreshkova/Naledi/Vharo/Kol/Meris: Response
Promontory: Lt Naledi! I understand your first away mission with us was likewise adventful. We’d also like to recognise you with the Starfleet Investigation Ribbon for that. (passing over the boxed ribbon) Additionally, as part of the bridge team aiding in the recovery of the Puritas, we’d like to recognize you with the Joint Meritorious Unit Award.
Kreshkova/Naledi/Vharo/Kol/Meris: Response
Trake made his way around the table to the officers who typically wore gold.
Promontory: Lt Kol, you were at my side for a good portion of the mission and I got to see several aspects of your excellent work up close. Like Lt. Naledi, we recognize you with the Joint Meritorious Unit Award for your help on the bridge. Furthermore, that rescue operation wouldn’t have even been possible, if it were not for the excellent work you and your team had prepped with the innovative use of tachyons in our shields. For that, we wanted to recognize you with the Innovation Ribbon as well.
He took a breath as the stack of boxes was piling up.
Promontory: But preventing incidents is even more important than defusing ones and for your work with the leaders of Nova Terra and New Gaia, we award you the Diplomacy Ribbon.
Kreshkova/Naledi/Vharo/Kol/Meris: Response
Promontory: (with another twinkling in his eyes) And who knows, if you ever get bored of Security, I’m sure you good make a go of it in the diplomatic core! (beat) And now Ensign Vharo, I know you’re still new to the fleet, but your efforts protecting our people and our interests has earned you the distinction of the Good Conduct Ribbon!
Kreshkova/Naledi/Vharo/Kol/Meris: Response
Promontory: And I hope Lieutenant Naledi’s been able to show you a few pointers. (turning to Ensign Meris) And for our newest crew member (nodding to the table) you could learn a lot from these officers. I’ll leave you to it.
Kreshkova/Naledi/Vharo/Kol/Meris: Response
Trake left the table and headed back to his open place setting at the front. There was one last surprise for the crew. He tapped a button and the lights dimmed again. From behind the decorations on the ceiling several machines began emitting glowing iridescent globes–like bubbles a child might play with, but, thanks to some discoveries on Selene, they were bioluminescent. Trake tapped one more button and a similarly glowing drink materialized on each table. Trake grabbed his own colorful drink and faced the crew once more, raising his glass to them.
Promontory: Sláinte!
