(( Valhalla Lounge, Deck 5, USS Thor ))

Kel:  You know Major.  It strikes me that we both learned the same lesson from all this.

Greaves: Oh, and what’s that?

Kel began walking to the door, the Major behind him.

Kel:  We'll we both learned to think through the unintended consequences of our actions.  I mean you took the Thor into an atmosphere where our sensors didn't work well at a steep angle and the pirates were able to ::gesturing around:: surprise us.  I went to help that man on the Dominion ship and I didn't stop to think about what that being might be capable of and if there was some other way I could assist.

Kells: (softly) I know what you mean.

Corelli: Tell me about it.

V'Len turned around.  The look on the majors face suggested that perhaps he did not view the situation in quite the same manner.

Greaves: I’m not fully sure I track the correlation, but hat’s an… interesting perspective Doctor.

Kel:  I'm not saying that I'm just saying we both learned to (beat) take that extra second to think things through.

Greaves: So it seems.

Corelli: Oftentimes in engineering, it’s the exact opposite. We don’t get a chance to second guess, or think things through. All the mental work occurs up front. It can be stressful, in its own way.

With that, Corelli was the first to exit, but he turned around once he was in the corridor again.

The Marine was thankful for Corelli’s comments as it took the conversation away from the real subject of his anger and allowed enough distraction for Wes to carry on in a new direction. The comment brought to mind an old proverb that he felt was fitting.

Greaves: Measure twice, cut once. We could all use that advice sometimes.

Kel: Exactly

Kells: Well, we all made it back. That's what matters most.

Corelli: I’ll be sure to look for any reptilian life signs before I leave the ship. One other place you might want to check is the umbilical connection ports, they get pretty warm also. Commodore, Commander, Lieutenant.

Kells: Chief. (to Kel and Greaves) I'll continue on my way as well, but I'll be looking for lizards. Good to run into you. Good luck on Oumuamua.

Greaves: Gentlemen, I’m sure we’ll all bump into each other again before transfers are complete. See you then. (Turning to Kel) I’ll check the umbilical on my way out, Doctor. If I see Newt you’ll be the first to know.

Kel: Good Luck Commodore.  Gentlemen, thank you for your assistance in rounding up Newt.
