((OOC: Leaving one set of tags this go around to help the scene play catch-up))

((Inside Ero’doth Temple, Gathering Area, Sonoe))

Ecologically, it always seemed there was at least one species of web spinners crucial to the environmental food chain and population control with a venomous bite that enjoyed nesting in dark structures. If the creature was this large, what did it eat? Every question to suppress the growing panic as Sevantha realized once again, she was staring at an arm that wasn’t hers, the pain was felt but it didn’t completely synchronize with her senses.

Saa (as Meris): G-great fire.

Taj’el (as Saa): Meris medical bag! I had it before we passed out!

The medical officer called out to Meris, though Sevantha could barely hear it as she studied the swelling and the deepening color of veins that began climbing up their wrist. She felt the pain and yet, it didn’t register, though her chest tightened and breathing became difficult.

Her eyes were open, she could see it, but her mind and the body she inhabited desynchronized further. Slowly the Commander leaned before slumping onto the ground, the stone of the ground felt wonderfully cool.

oO I must be running a fever…Oo

Meris (as Więcek): ::to Więcek as Taj’el:: Find the medical kit!

Więcek (as Taj’el): Response

Sevantha felt the vibration of their steps within the flooring. It was the first grounding thing she’d felt since she’d woken up in Meris’s body. She couldn’t identify where they were, their emotions, the urgency in the air, it was all still. It felt like one of the holodeck emergency programs from Academy, only the patient was the live subject.

Taj’el (as Saa): Ha! I got it! ::beat:: Commander! How do you feel?

She heard Taj’el, but she didn’t immediately respond.

Meris (as Więcek): ::to Więcek as Taj’el:: Do you see the kit?

Więcek (as Taj’el):  Response

Saa (as Meris): I…::catching breath:: am fev…erish.

Pain felt muted, dulled, and Sevantha cursed her dissociative struggles with the body. How did her very odd and specific struggle managed to get ripped open for her team to see during a period where she needed to relay what she felt.

Taj’el (as Saa): Need… um… sample from creature medical file on Saa… wait Meris. Meris’s physical body… wait my PADD stuck translating. ::they looked for Saa’s PADD::

She could hear Taj’el’s panic and tried to make sense of what they were trying to do.

Meris (as Więcek): Slow down. Take a breath.

Wiecek’s voice, with Meris piloting, spoke to calm Taj’el.

Meris (as Więcek): Put the spider in here.

Turning her head, Sevantha watched now as the small creature was collected. Shortly after Taj’el plucked up her PADD which Sevantha felt a surge of energy to advise again. Biometric bypasses and vocal confirmation made it a security risk. Taj’el had access to medical files, but the counseling files were not open to medical personnel. There were also a few command-level details on some medical files that were limited to her and the CMO, and while it seemed silly to worry about, Sevantha didn’t need every member of the medical team, let alone the ship, knowing about her Division 14 stay.

Saa (as Meris): Care—ful, authorization- ::She hissed in pain trying to sit up, suddenly registered all at once, and fell back:: L-lea-ve… it

Więcek (as Taj’el): Response

Taj’el (as Saa): So-sorry, should I not use your PADD? Can you tell me what you are feeling? We need to tie off the arm if it’s venomous. ::speaking a bit fast and breathless::

Saa (as Meris): Swel-ling. ::moves hand to hold throat:: C-chest– heavy, tight. ::moving to rest their good hand on their sternum:: Pain. Ch-eck… J’naii bio-logy.

Sevantha couldn’t confirm if it was a venom or a reaction from the J’naii biology in response to the bite. She tried to stabilize her breathing to ease the set of Lieutenants’ increasing panic and concern, but it was more difficult than she realized. Purposefully, she stilled the arm and bent it, just in case it was venom, in effort to halt the flow if it had hit the bloodstream.

How was Meris doing working on themselves?

Meris (as Więcek): ::to Saa (as Meris):: Sorry about this. When I walked into that cobweb, a spider must have fallen into my uniform…

Więcek (as Taj’el): Response

Saa (as Meris):  …not your… fault.

Attempting to comfort someone while actively suffering wasn’t the most convincing, something Sevantha knew, but as the ranking officer and counselor, she had to try.

Meris (as Więcek): How do we determine how dangerous this is? If it injected venom, we need to know how fast it spreads and whether the tourniquet is enough.

Their good hand gestures towards the bag.

Saa (as Meris): Tr-tricorder, scan… for… fluids.

oO How eloquent. Oo

She missed her telepathy dearly for the comfort of the world around her. Instead, she kept focusing on the cool flooring, which was one of the few joys she had in this temple at the moment.

Taj’el (as Saa)/Więcek (as Taj’el):  Response

Meris (as Więcek): There’s a wide, flat section at the far end of the chamber. It’s stable, clear, and quiet. Perhaps we should move her there so you have more room to work. It’s the best spot I’ve seen so far.

Taj’el (as Saa)/Więcek (as Taj’el): Response

Saa (as Meris): Y-yes, permis-sion gr-gr-anted.

Swallowing became difficult. Sevantha realized she needed to slow and steady her breathing, any more panic and the struggle could further aggravate the esophagus.

Taj’el (as Saa)/Więcek (as Taj’el)/Meris (as Wiecek): Response
