((USS Tanngrisner, Svairu Corridor))

Lieutenant Commander Morro Caras looked out from the front of the very small shuttle. The Syren’s Song was a gaudy ship. He hated the look of it. It wasn’t so much as the pinnacle of luxury as it was a testament to hubris. It had been extremely overengineering, and incredibly overdesigned. What schematics that Caras and Ral had managed to find were enough for them to easily find its many weaknesses. The problem was how many redundancies it had. While it was easy to take out, or in their case possibly commandeer and get information, they would have to systematically go to each of its cores to do so… manually. It wasn’t so much technical as it was going to be laborious.

Caras was worried for the wellbeing of all the souls aboard the luxury liner. He really hoped this wouldn’t be like his very first mission with the empty USS Unity Dow. He hoped that the Captain and Commander DeVeau were safe…. Josh too… kind of. The whole situation had him a little on edge. At least with the unity down, it was another Starfleet vessel. The Syren’s song was a ship they had very little information on which made proceeding safely and getting the job done a lot more difficult. There were far too many unknowns.

Right now all they could see was the massive size of the luxury liner, it was only slightly outlined by the anomaly, known as the tidepool that had appeared. The Syren’s song was unnaturally highlighted by the tidepool, the light from whatever the it was off the surface of the Syren’s Song in a strange way. Making it appear eerie. Knowing it was completely empty added to that effect. The lights were mostly on, but no one was home in this gigantic vessel.

They had found a good point of entry. They had just breached its shields with a code they had managed to crack for one of its escape vessels, that would allow them in, but they would have to hack the hatch.

Now they were on the approach to the maintenance hatch that was near one of the kitchens. One of many kitchens.

Caras stood up the best he could and straddled the cockpit and passenger area of the shuttle. The cabin was cramped, but it was needed to get into the tight space on the Syren’s song to gain access to the maintenance hatch.

Caras: Vharo, any intel on who might have been aboard that would have useful data for us? We might try and take a detour to their quarters to see if they left something behind. Anything that will save us time manually hacking four computer cores.

Caras almost let out a sigh. So far that was the plan. Sweep through the ship and investigate, make it to the computer cores to see if they can retrieve the ship's data from when the incident occurred. Meaning going through logs both of the crew, and of the systems.

Vharo: Response

Caras nodded and put that into his tricorder, it would be useful for later and if they got a hit, they’d take a detour. He did his own scan now that they were closer.

Caras: Still no life signs now that we’re inside the shields…. But those energy readings… What could those be?

It was almost like something was sweeping through the gigantic ship over and over again, but the sweeps only seemed to be a corridor at a time, and completely random.

Naledi/Winters: response

Caras looked at the others.

Caras: Not sure. It could be a pattern of some kind. Some other dimensional technology? When it’s the tangle you can never be sure. At the outpost a few of us dealt with a small pocket dimension created by beings called the hierophants. Don’t think this is them though, last time they infiltrated through the minds of another officer. This seems like a right up disappearance.

Caras didn’t think fondly of his time on VX-LON-3 and the horror he had seen there. Everyone was poisoned and their chief of operations being piloted like a puppet by some other dimensional being.

Naledi/Vharo/Winters: Response

Caras leaned behind the cockpit tapping their resident pilot a bit on the shoulder as they were approaching a tight corridor of the Syren’s songs design.

((OOC: anyone who wants to take the pilot position claim it, though it might only be for a moment))

Caras: Nice and steady. We’ll need to get up right to that maintenance hatch and back up into it. We will extend a forcefield to keep the seal, but as far as we know… the ship is still fully operational. Life support is working and everything, but there is no telling what that rampant energy has done to the inside of the ship… if anything. Hopefully it’s at least taken any drone based “security” offline.

Caras knew that the Cruise liner has a fleet of small robots as a part of it to complete small tasks. It was one of the things touted in the “press release” of its maiden voyage. The Drones were responsible for setting up events or being small tour guides, and it was possible they had a security protocol. That was one of the key reasons they had brought Winters along. Caras hoped it wasn’t going to be messy, but he sure felt a whole lot safer with the Director of Strategic Operations, an intelligence officer, and a Marine officer on board.
