As of late, her mind was a flurry of thoughts and emotions building towards the trip back to Betazed. She hadn’t taken any time off to visit her homeworld since she’d graduated from Starfleet, and she had only returned briefly after Academy to honor the ceremonial 3 year mourning tradition for her brother. Her mother didn’t know what her political machinations had stirred, all the arrangements Sevantha had to make, favors she had to ask of friends, and explanations she had to give. Personal insight into her messy home life that she had transferred to the Gamma Quadrant to escape.

oO Tholta prevails… I still need to talk to Velaan. Oo

A task she wasn’t too keen on doing. Velaan and she had differences that always came with the subject of their mother and his integration. He was excited one moment and dodgy the next, and the moment she tried to get him to open up he mysteriously vanished from the room.

Wrapped up in her thoughts, Sevantha was on her way to check in with the diplomatic offices to assure their guests had their accommodations met, a job both the counselor and second officer demanded of her. Her thoughts and feelings swirled enough to blind her completely to the presence of others around her.

Which was how she collided directly with another individual.

Feredo: My apologies.

Flustered, the counselor straightened up and smoothed down her uniform.

Saa: No no, I am so very sorry, I was completely lost in my own thoughts.

Politely she bowed before rising up, studying the man, she noticed the lack of uniform and his species was one unknown to her. This man was one of their diplomatic guests.

Saa: Lieutenant Commander Sevantha Saa, second officer on board, you must be one of our guests.

Feredo: Feredo, envoy of Zayox.

The golden ring scars in her eyes brightened in recognition of the name, her smile melting from the practiced Federation politeness to genuine warmth.

Saa: Would you happen to be Josh’s Feredo. ::clasping her hands in front of her:: Is he aware you’re on board?

Feredo: Yes, that Feredo and ::shaking his head:: our paths haven’t crossed yet… intentionally.

Saa: I understand ::gently nodding her head:: I’m sure he’ll appreciate the surprise.

Feredo: I tend to try to pop out of the woodwork. A way of keeping that magic alive in a similar manner to how we first met, if you will. In fact, perhaps you could assist with.

Surprise crossed her features when the diplomat suggested she could be of assistance but now she was curious. If Josh remained unaware and Feredo had a habit of dropping in, she could only guess this meant he had every intention of catching the engineer turned intelligence turned First Officer completely off guard.

Saa: Catching Herrick off guard would be quite the feat. ::lifting a finger she tapped her cheek:: One I believe I am more than willing to take up, I appreciate someone who puts a great deal of effort in for their partner.

Feredo: Response

Saa: We have multiple amenities on board such as Valhalla or the Holodecks which before you leave I highly recommend if you can talk Herrick into revealing his holoprograms.

The last bit of her voice carried a playful lilt. Many on board worked hard to keep the nature of their holodeck programs secret, an indulgence for themselves that often carried insight into their private lives many weren’t willing to openly share. Herrick she suspected to be no different, he kept his personal life close, and mentions of Feredo had only come up during their telepathic therapy work.

Feredo: Response

Saa: Usually my partner and I prefer adventuring planet side or if at DS14, hitting the themed dance nights at the Foundry. ::She tilted her head:: If you’re looking for a more refined experience you’ll want a reservation at Starlight Table, though personally, I think every high end restaurant tends to feel the same…

Maybe it was a cultural issue for Sevantha but meals at experience style restaurants for simply large menus without a large table of people felt pointless. Sharing a meal with a loved one was enjoyable and intimate, but there was more intimacy in a home made meal then. She assumed the experience of dressing up, feeling like House royalty for an evening was the purpose or the rarity of the meals available for status. Yet, it simply rang hollow to her, a good meal at a small cart could provide more value and connection with the people around her without the expectation of formalities.

Feredo: Response

Saa: ::intrigued a single brow rose:: What do you have in mind?
