((Sevantha Saa’s Counseling Office, Deck 10, USS Thor))

She’d rejected the remote, she stood perfectly still, like a rabbit frozen in place staring at a wolf yet with a hardened Vulcan gaze laced with confusion. The remote lay untouched on her patient had refused to touch or even play with it. The emotions in the air were one of expectation, resolution, and dread? Any entire hour had nearly ticked by, and Sevantha wondered if she had finally met a client to challenge her as much as Katsim Peri did.

Instead of words, Sevantha was having to rely almost exclusively on the Vulcan’s shifting shadows of emotions and responding the best she could. Still, she looked at her PADD, noticing the time. Another patient was going to be here soon.

T’Sumon for her part usually couldn’t find anything to talk to the counselor about. She never thought she would need counseling and was oblivious to what it could possibly do to help her. Yet her mind was frantic like she was under attack. It could be that this woman could spell her doom. She had done her best to shrink her thoughts, keep them tight, and her mind was racing, more like speed walking to conclusions. Always in a tight uniform manner.

Saa: We are nearly at time, T’Sumon.

T’Sumon: oO At last Oo. ::nodding::

T’Sumon didn’t like her thoughts being invaded, nor did she like talking. They were two things she was very uncomfortable at doing. She tried to give the Counselor as much as she could. But it was difficult and they were still feeling one another out. The fact that this was almost done was refreshing.

Sevantha could feel the relief wash over the Vulcan.

Saa: You realize Counseling is not a punishment correct? More than a few people were simply concerned about your continued isolation and people avoidance tactics in Sickbay.

T’Sumon: Iiii..ii…..iiiii….iiiiii……iiii.

T’Sumon let out an internal exhausted sigh. This was going to take awhile.

Lowering her head, she considered how best to address the matter.

Saa: I’m going to be gone for a few weeks so we won’t be able to make this weekly just yet…

A few weeks? That was fortunate news to the small vulcan.

T’Sumon: iiii..iii… under…stand..

Eight point seven seconds. Too long for two words. This was difficult. There was something about a woman who was her boss's boss scrutinizing her, holding her very life in the balance that made her react like this. She couldn’t figure out what it was and T’Sumon was slightly perturbed by it all.

Saa: …But I’m going to send a request to the Chief Medical Officer to have you work some rounds with Lieutenant Taj’el. ::she flashed a smile:: You’ve been isolating and I think maybe a little professional socialization would be helpful.

That was a vulcan named. T’Sumon did not wish to be paired with another Vulcan. Usually she spent her time doing R&D and when she needed to, emergency surgery. She had managed to keep her head down and she thought she had succeeded at no one noticing her. She was wrong, the Ship's counselor, Second officer, and head of health had noticed her. Now she was getting reprimanded for hiding. T’Sumon had seen these tactics before when she was in the Vulcan Expeditionary Group.

T’Sumon: Iiiii..iii see.

Two point four seconds. Much better.

Saa: And next session, I’d like to hear how those shifts went.

T’Sumon: I’ll report b-b-b-b–b-back. oOthereisnowaythisisn’tpunishment,therearesomanydifferntanglesthatthiscouldbeatrap,ishouldn’thavehidperhapsishouldapologizeperhapsishouldmakesomekindofamendsperhapsishouldjustgetitdoneandgetitoverwithOo

The Vulcans' thoughts were fast, quiet, and fleeting. T’Sumon did her best to try and mask them from the counselor. It was something she had a little experience in.

Despite the feeling of dread and dismay Sevantha felt, she kept an encouraging gentle smile as she rose, folding her PADD up against her chest.

Saa: There is nothing to worry about, Lieutenant Taj’el is great company, and I think you’ll find it’ll be an excellent experience for you both.

T’Sumon doubted that. She did not know any Vulcans that appreciated her company. That’s why she was here, with Starfleet, and not with the Vulcan Expeditionary Group.

Sevantha gestured T’Sumon to follow, escorting her to the door of the office as she spoke.

T’Sumon stood up and shuffled over to the door. Maintaining placid eye contact in her strange way.

Saa: I look forward to hearing about your experience when I get back.

And with that, the office door closed, leaving T’Sumon to stand there in the hallway, alone.

T’Sumon:  oOI’mnotsurehowishouldavoidthis.CanIavoidthis?Perhapsit’sbettertobearwithit,ifIgetanothermarkonmyrecord,itcouldbemylastOo
