((USS Modi, The Tangle))
Naledi hated the way that the shuttlebay vibrated. The things humans never realised was that when they left the engine on, the vibrations met the standing frequency of their exoskeleton, causing them to vibrate as well. It often gave them a headache. Of course, if they had skin, the vibrations would be softened at least.
The sooner they got into the shuttle and made way towards their designated landing area and away from the “bad vibrations”.
Rushing into the shuttlecraft, Naledi saw one face they recognised. Lieutenant Kreshkova. But also one face they did not.
Kreshkova: You must be Commander Alveth.
Alveth: Response
The Human seemed to have spotted them as they delved deeper into the shuttlecraft.
Kreshkova: Lieutenant Naledi! It’s good to see you again.
Naledi flicked their appendage.
Naledi: Snap… Likewise
Alveth: Response.
Kreshkova: I’m glad you’re bozh here a little early. It looks like zhe normal flight conditions vhich are harrowing on a class K planet, are getting ready to get considerably vorse. Zhe sooner ve get on zhe ground zhe better.
Alveth: Response
Naledi sat down in one of the available seats. They agreed wholeheartedly. Scrolling on their PADD, they looked at their open case list, looking for any and all information they may need related to the distress signal the Thor received.
(( Outpost – VX-LON-3 – The Tangle ))
Time passed, and aside from a few knocked over utensils, the shuttle ride had been smooth and steady. In the back of the shuttle, Naledi couldn’t have seen what exactly they went through, although having seen the simulations, perhaps that was for the best.
Kreshkova: I am glad zhat is over. ::Swiveling in her seat:: Are you bozh in vone piece?
Naledi: Snap Pop… Yes
Alveth: Response
Kreshkova: Good! It vould look bad on my personnel file if I lost someone on a shuttle ride.
Naledi stopped for a moment. Could that have happened? Had that happened?
Looking at her facial expression, they appeared to be employing the humorous approach. To build rapport, companionship. Should they add to that conversation? What did humanoids even find funny?
Naledi: Snap Pop Hiss Crack… The cow fell over the moon. Snap Pop Chirp… Were they our responsibility?
Neither of them would have noticed, but that tickled them.
Alveth/Kreshkova: Response
Naledi: Crick Pop Hiss… What is the atmosphere?
Of course, Naledi suspected that they already knew the composition of the air. But checking their intel against the shuttles sensors would confirm the legitimacy of what they’d downloaded from the Labs Computer Core.
Alveth/Kreshkova: Response
Naledi: Crick Snap Pop Hiss Crack… Brief. It’ll get to speed with the expedition leader.
