Lt. JG V'Len Kel - Have you seen a small green car insurance salesman

((Corridor, Deck 5, USS Thor ))

The corridor was mostly quite besides the slow pulse of V'Len's tricorder.  In fact the whole ship was mostly quite.  He had started his scans at the bridge and was slowly working his way down.  Ulasso had started in what was left of the engineering hull and was working his way up.  So far there was no sign of Newton, Ulasso's pet Gecko.  

Kel: Newt?  Ne-ewt?  Are you out there?

V'Len was not sure why he was calling.  As far as he knew Geckoes did not come when called.  Still he was concerned for the little guy.  He and Ulasso were sure he was either on the Thor or had found his way onto the Oumuamua.  He had been in the saucer section during the crash and the particular area around Ulasso's quarters had not seen any hull breaches.  This made it unlikely Newt had been pulled out of the Thor.  Further he and Ulasso had placed several "Gecko Snacks" around the ship, some of which had been eaten.  While there were a half dozen or so small animal pets lost on the Thor, it seemed on likely that the others would share Newt's particular taste.  

Ahead V'Len heard voices coming from the lounge.

Kells: Not at all. I hope I'm not interrupting you. (beat) Just a final look around before I leave.

Greaves/Corelli: Response

Aron shook his head.

Kells: No. I know that V'Airu has requested you both, but I'll be on a leave of absence. (beat) You should take the reassignment. Starfleet needs you both out there.

Greaves/Corelli: Response

Kel:  We'll miss having you aboard Commodore.  ::turning to Greaves and Correlli:: Afternoon Major, Lieutenant.  

Greaves/Corelli/Kells: Response

Kel:  I'm trying to find Ulasso's lost pet, Newton.  So far no luck.

V'len worked his way over to the bar and moved behind it scanning with his tricorder.  

Greaves/Corelli/Kells: Response

Kel: Well if Newt is anything like Ulasso there's a good chance he's at the bottom of a bottle of Saurian Brandy.  (beat) I'm kidding.  There is food back here so he could be hiding out back here.

Greaves/Corelli/Kells: Response

Kel:  Major I don't think I've had the opportunity to thank you for getting me off that Dominion ship.  (beat) I really can't thank you enough.  I don't think I would have left that corridor without your urging and help.  

V'Len couldn't quite say it, but he understood why people liked and followed Greaves.  While he could be annoying, his ability to inspire action and loyalty was second only to Kells.
