((Crew Cockpit, USS Odin))
The crew seemed comfortable
enough in the cockpit of the USS Odin, but like the vast majority of starfleet
vessels, Naledi found it chilly. Their destination planet of “Nova Terra”
seeming no better, as the clouds white as snow passed seamlessly around them.
More crew they hadn’t met inhabited the shuttlecraft. A Tito and a Kreshkova. They looked incredibly similar, in fact Naledi assumed they were the same species, until they talked. They both sounded so different from one-another. Learning how to address them would be in itself a challenge.
Kreshkova: Ve’re about five minutes out from Hudson.
Tito: Nova Terra looks quite beautiful.
Naledi: ::Mandibles Chattering Quietly::
Viola/Henry:
Response
Kreshkova: I’ll be setting us down outside of zhe town, so ve
attract less attention.
Tito: That is always a good choice
Naledi knew there may have been a chance for an input from themselves, but as a newly minted intel officer, they needed information first. Not just about what they should talk about, but also how to talk to them. They’d served with many humans in the past, but they were a lot more complicated than other species.
A Klingon will fight you.
A Romulan will decieve you.
A Vulcan will beat you at chess and make snarky comments that are entirely “logical”.
A human will do all of those with different intensities, and in different scenarios.
They longed for the companionship of Naomi. At least a Betazoid always knew what they were thinking, especially if their words failed them.
Viola/Henry:
Response
Kreshkova: Do zhe two of you ::Sasch craned her head around toward
Viola and Henry:: live near each ozher? And if so, which part of town is
closest to you bozh?
Viola/Henry: Response
Naledi listened intently. Holding themselves as still as death, still groggy from their hibernation period.
Tito: Maybe we can visit?
It’s my first time down, I was on the team that beamed to New Gaia.
Kreshkova/Naledi/Viola/Henry: Response
The Tito moved it’s head. Seemingly having
relevance with the others, as the rest reacted.
Tito: It could have gone better. They have an interesting concept of
society… ::he didn’t want to share too much with strangers onboard, so he
turned to the other Lieutenant.:: Lieutenant Naledi have you stayed on board or
were you with any of teh teams?
Naledi: Hiss Snap Crack Pop Twinge
Kreshkova/Viola/Henry/Tito: Response
Naledi tapped their commbadge, seemingly it had turned itself off.
Naledi: Hiss Snap Crack Pop Twinge Clank Snap… My Apologies, Lieutenant. Universal Translation needed to speak. My species undergoes hibernation annually. I just woke up a few hours ago.
Kreshkova/Viola/Henry/Tito: Response
Naledi: Snap Pop Crick Hiss… It’s alright. It only lasts for a week, and I don’t require sleep for the remainder of the year. My species is able to survive on short power-naps until our time comes, but we remain fully aware in that time. An evolutionary mechanism related to our reduced lifespan.
Kreshkova/Viola/Henry/Tito: Response
