((Holosuite 3, Deck 5, USS Thor))

Lieutenant Commander Morro Caras was in danger. The holodeck had malfunctioned in a major test that he was being put through where he was in command. It had started out as an intriguing mission in the badlands where they were trying the neutralize a threat and had gotten more than Caras had originally bargained for. They had been well matched at every turn from an intellectual level and it was turning out to be a pretty good mystery. The crew had come up with an idea to disguise that they had actually been taken down by probes in the network that their adversaries had put up. They clearly used the network to make a blockade and cut off systems close to the badlands from the federation, and one another. They had a hodge podge of technology, and Caras had become excited by the prospect of going head to head with them, more in a game of wits and wills than actual firepower. However before they got to implement their brilliant plan that they had spent the better half of the last 2 hours implementing. The holoprogram had froze; An anti-climatic point right before they could discover if their plan worked. The glitch seemed to work to fix themselves, but seemingly skipped ahead a couple of minutes trying to compensate. In that short amount of time they had found that the ship seemingly had been without leadership and that they had been boarded. The holodeck had resumed them in the middle of bridge combat, and to Caras’ dismay it didn’t look like they were winning. Their opponents were as diverse as they were, seemingly from a lot of the same worlds. Caras was a little bit jealous of their sleek and dashing outfits. Caras took cover long enough to yell orders to the human people currently at his command.

Caras: Treat this as a real mission, I do not believe the safeties are on, nor should we take any chances. All non-holographic crew, please stay alive. I don’t think this is our standard test any more.

Caras dodged the swipe of his assailant's blade as he tried to strike over his cover at Caras. Caras rolled a bit further, which was seemingly the Klingon Hybrid’s plan, as once Caras got enough distance, the soldier rolled a small metal sphere the size of a ping pong ball at him… It was an explosive. A micro explosive, but still enough to kill him at close range.

Caras couldn’t get enough distance quickly enough.

Nera: Endeavouring to do so ::beat:: Found them! They’ve physically boarded us, they’re not beaming on. I’m reading docked ships in the main shuttle bay on Deck 6, and on Deck 3’s observation landing pad.

They had found a way around their defense, or might have been overly cautious while approaching.

Ral: I’ll see if we have transporter control.

One of the holographic Starfleet officers leapt at Caras’s feet and covered the explosive. Taking the large force of the blast. Only sending Caras back a meter. But the holographic starfleet bridge officer was no more.

Nera: What was that you were saying about staying alive?

Caras turned to Nera who had come to his aid, Caras had an apologetic look on his face.

Caras: Technically I said non-holograms, but I’m not sure if the rest of the crew knows what that distinction is. This crewman…

Caras didn’t want to finish his sentence. The crewman might have been holographic, but he was still dead.

Herrick: We need to find a safe way to conclude the program.

Didn’t they need to complete the scenario for that? If it was still working under the parameters then that would easily solve it.

Ral:  I have transporter control but those suits they’re wearing are giving the targeting scanners a hard time.

That’s how they must have gotten around the defense net that they had put up. Their plan had mostly revolved around them beaming aboard. It wouldn’t have normally mattered that they used a shuttle because once they boarded they would still get hit with the forcefield, so whatever they were wearing must have affected all point targeting.

Herrick: ::firing more shots:: How many left to worry about up here?

Caras tried to take a census of the room.

Nera: I think there are three left

Ral: We have more on-route in the turbo lift.  I’ve sealed the bridge doors but I’m not sure how long it will hold them.

Caras finally composed himself and pulled himself to his full height.

Caras: This is probably the best place to hold them off at the moment. There are limited entrances. Secure the bridge

Caras less preferred this method and would have rather been going on the attack ship to ship now. This put all of the people of the simulated Thor in direct danger, but at least Their opposition seemed like they didn’t want to attack. They probably wanted to take the Thor for themselves.

Nera: ::muttering to himself:: What is it with me and faulty holoprograms.

With that a large Tellaraite grabbed Nera and tossed him, into a workstation. He then started to advance on the downed doctor.

Herrick: If we pin them down, we might be able to get some answers.

Ral: Are they going to tell us how to exit!

Caras would let them deal with the door. This problem was immediate.

Caras: Hang on Nera!

Caras made his way over to Nera, attempting to slow down the Tellarite in the slim black uniform.

 Nera: Response

Caras did what was now his signature move.  Putting someone in a hold. He had done it on a lot of previous missions, and now it was becoming second nature to him when he had to employ it in real life situations, not just the professional wrestling ones on the holodeck.

They wrestled for a good moment but it was clear Caras had caught the Tellarite by surprise, and put him in a move that got him to quickly submit.

Now the majority of the fighting had ended the bridge was quieter once more.  There was banging from the other side of the bridge entrance doors.

Ral: Looks like our visitors have arrived.  What about this one? ::pointing at the captured intruder::

Caras used that opportunity to put their new prisoner into binders.

Caras: We’ll see what we can get out of him. We need those guys gone though before we can, and it doesn’t seem we’re able to lock on with our current targeting tech.

Herrick /Nera: Response

Ral: Don’t worry I’ve got that sorted but it’ll only be a temporary fix.  We need to find out how we can exit.

Caras saw Wyatt hit the transporter controls and the banging stopped. Then a chime rang out. Caras looked at the console, the intruders had just been transported to the brig.

Caras was impressed.

Caras: Brilliant move Ral. I’m assuming you did that by knowing that they were right outside of the door rather than trying to do a direct lock on? They seem to have something that doesn’t let us easily lock on to them.

Caras was only guessing, there were a multitude of ways that Ral could have done it.

Herrick /Nera: Response

Caras looked around now that they had a moment to breathe.

Caras: Everything locked down then? What about other tech, anything else they might have set up in the room?

Ral / Herrick /Nera: Response

Caras: Then that brings us to you.

Caras turned to their prisoner.

Caras: What and who are you all, state your mission and purpose.

Caras didn’t really have much of a mean streak, but he knew he had to be at least intimidating. Something that despite his size was difficult for him to do. Most people knew him as a jolly green almost giant, and it was rare that he ever became angry. Caras rounded on their new Tellarite prisoner.

Prisoner: We’re the Conservatory, and that’s all you get to know.

Conservationists? Of what? Themselves?

Ral / Herrick /Nera: Response

((OOC: feel free to use the prisoner, he’s just a general NPC))
