Monotonous repetition, oh how she adored monotonous repetition. Bi-monthly weapons maintenance had the Orion on autopilot, her hands moved absent higher thought as she disassembled her fourth rifle of the morning. Unfortunately such a blissful time would soon be interrupted by a double set of shrill notification from her PADD, the notifications forcing the woman to close her eyes as her mind rapidly caught up with her body. She gently set the partly disassembled rifle on the desk before reaching to slide the PADD over. A solitary eyebrow raised as she noticed the two incoming messages.

Oo Carras, confidential meeting and Saa, 'Check-in'. Hopefully unrelated, very unfortunately timed coincidence for me regardless. oO

Vharo acknowledged the meeting invite as she reassembled the rifle, locking the armory back up moments later, she'd be back. Stopping just shy of the doorway, she gently tapped the PADD against her leg for a handful of moments, seemingly stuck weighing her options in regards to the second message before she could depart. The Commander was the only familiar face she had now that Favon and Buccheri were out of range but more importantly the Commander knew the ship better than her, absolutely no chance to hide. An easy decision in hindsight, she sent off a suggestion that they schedule the check-in for shore leave given her new current assignment uncertainty. Now fully stepping into the hallway, she took off to see what specific new horror the Chief Engineer needed her help with.

((Conference Room, Deck 13, USS Thor))

Vharo stepped into the conference room, offering the eclectic gathering of officers a sharp nod as she sat down. The Chief Engineer's offered smile worried her as he prepared to talk, he hadn't done that last time and last time she got shot at for the better part of the afternoon, this was going to be bad.

Caras: I’ve called you all here to discuss a project that was given to me shortly after I came aboard. This is less formal than usual but it is an active project that might require unique solutions and I'm looking to get insight from each one of you. I do expect the utmost sensitivity and confidentiality here; since we’re dealing with the topic of someone’s possible offspring.

Vharo stared ahead, her expression remaining impassive at the revelation of why she'd been summoned. Okay so it wasn't ambush on a hostile world bad but children, children were up there. What did she know about children anyway, she didn't even have any siblings. The closest thing to a child she'd experienced was trying to get
Buccheri to study for his finals. A hundred thoughts continued to race through her mind trying to rationalize her presence in the room as she sat there stone faced for a few moments.

Vharo: I'll be frank, this is unexpected. Though I understand sentiment regarding the lack of information, quite a large step for individuals.

Tito/Naledi: Response

Caras:
Since around Stardate 236608.28, Starfleet has moved towards accommodating all species that fill its ranks with facilities to support both the birthing of, and the care of offspring. That means if you’re in Starfleet, you should be able to have the ability to procreate without special permission. It is a private and personal choice.

Vharo just continued to nod along to the information being offered up, leaving her expression impassive and therefore the woman's thoughts were anyone's guess. The importance of what was being said is not so much lost on the young officer but more so off-loaded into the back of her mind. Outside the parameters of this specific tasking she didn't really have a use for it. She wasn't science or medical, her solitary concern with any children aboard was making sure they went home in the same condition they arrived. She is nothing but a heavily armed babysitter comparatively.

Tito/Naledi: Response

Caras:
At the moment This vesta class ship does not provide the facilities needed to support Xindi insectoid offspring. I aim to rectify that. Usually this would fall to Operations, however since there are several large Engineering caveats that must be made, it’s fallen to me. I’ve been informed because of the nature of Xindi egg clusters, the fact that they possess the ability to create and deploy a powerful neurotoxin; Sickbay might not be the best place for them and Sciences might be more fitting for protection, containment, and monitoring. It’s also because of that Neurotoxin and containment that I've asked for security to be here as well.

Vharo: ::she lifted a solitary eyebrow as the engineer spoke.:: Powerful neurotoxin, check. You could've led with that but I understand why you didn't.

Tito/Naledi: Response

Caras:
I can appreciate that. ::looking at each person in the room::Lieutenant Tito, I need someone who knows their way around all the science labs and systems; and can help find the proper place for these eggs if they were ever to be laid. Ensign Vharo, I’ll need your assistance coming up with the proper kind of containment and protection for these eggs, They can’t be startled or tampered with, and we need a good way to monitor them without possibly setting them off.Lieutenant Naledi you’re here as a representative of your own species, and to answer questions about the eggs, their containment and your preferences as we design a system for hatching them. I still hope you don’t mind this being discussed.

Vharo directed her gaze to the large insectoid, her notepad exiting her pocket as she turned in her chair to face them. She wasn't concerned about whom the eggs belonged to or whether they even were going to be real. She just needed to figure out how to keep them safe while keeping everyone else aboard safe. Easy day.

Vharo: Should be relatively straightforward to set up a protected area if the lab sections can accommodate. My first chief concern would be the genuine make-up and function of the toxin released, it goes without saying that I would like it to be a closed system. Less risk of exposure for the crew, limited external pressures and risks on the eggs. More importantly, is the toxin produced important to your peoples growth cycle or is it genuinely just a by-product.

Vharo paused with her last question. This was an awkward topic for anyone, more so she surmised for the Lieutenant specifically. There was likely nothing quite like a detailed rundown of your species pregnancy and growth timeline to put your mind at ease.

Tito/Naledi/Caras: Response

((OOC: I had to re-send this four different times because it keeps eating my formatting, I'm so sorry.))
