((Bridge, Deck 01, USS Thor))

Not just one, but two shuttles emerged from behind the unknown vessel.  Sasch leaned forward,  watching them, wishing - praying that they would just disappear. But Winters' quiet words confirmed indeed she was not hallucinating.  oO Vell zhis is more zhan inconvenient. Oo

Kreshkova: Meris, please put us between zhe Syren’s song and zhat shuttle. Mister Orlon, vhezher ve zhink zhey can hear us or not, please inform zhem zhat to board eizher zhe Janaran or zhe Syren’s Song vill be considered a hostile act, and ve vill take action.

Meris & Roe: (in unison) Aye Captain.

Sasch glanced between the two, then shaking her head, she turned her attention back to the action.

Roe: =/\= Unidentified vessel, this is the Federation starship USS Thor. We are monitoring the approach of your shuttles towards the SS Syren's Song. Be advised if you attempt to board the Syren's Song or the USS Janaran your actions will be treated as a hostile act and we will respond. Stand down and return your shuttles to your vessel. Please acknowledge. =/\=

Winters: Permission to arm weapons and lock onto the hostile. Maybe that will get their attention.

Hearing Winter's request, Sasch gave a shake of her head. oO It may come to zhat, but not yet. Oo

Meris: Captain, given that we are both isolated and understaffed, that vessel may consider that they have the upper hand. ::a pause:: We could alter their perception of the situation if we were to create a sensor ghost of an approaching starship... perhaps the Octavia E. Butler, for example.

Roe: A sensor ghost? How do you suggest we do that?

Winters: ::remaining silent:: oO A shot across the bow generally gets the point across. Oo

Sasch tipped her head to the side as her eyes fixed on Lieutenant Meris.

Kreshkova:  I’m listening.

Lifting her chin from the console, Ash listened one eye on her console and one eye on the pilot.  oO What did the Captain call him?  Meris. Oo

Meris: We could use the lateral sensor array to bounce active scans off a distant stellar phenomenon. If we tune our transmission appropriately, it could give the appearance of an approaching starship. If we couple it with a burst communication of the OEB's transponder signal, reflected off the same phenomenon, it should be a sufficient ruse to convince the pirate vessel that the Sagan-class starship is approaching. Any region of ionized plasma should be sufficient to create such a sensor ghost.

Winters: And what if they call your bluff?

Sasch sensed Winters leaning in.  oO At least zhat’s somezhing. Maybe ve’re making some progress. Oo

Kreshkova: Do you haf a plan for zhat, Meris?  And if he does, how feasible is zhat course of action, Commander Orlon?

Sasch crossed her legs and rested her arms on the chair’s armrests her fingers wrapping tightly over the front of each, her knuckles began to lose their color.  oO Zhe last zhing I vant is to be sprawled across zhe bridge floor. Oo

Roe: That's an awful thin veil you have on that ruse. If they aren't convinced immediately, they'll pick up on the fact that the "OEB" isn't getting any closer pretty quickly.

Orlon, A.:  It is doable. Zhe might see zhrough it, but I could make zhat happen.

Meris: I acknowledge that it is a gamble. If it fails we will need to be prepared to defend ourselves, as well as the Syren's Song and the USS Janaran as well.

Winters: Commander, what if we amplify the idea Lieutenant Meris has? Instead of a sensor echo, we remote pilot one of the shuttles from the Thor, with a power generator and for a holo-matrix to make the Lieutenants OEB come to life.

Kreshkova:  If ve go zhat direction…

Sasch’s right forefinger began to tap lightly on the armrest.

Kreshkova:  how vould ve get zhe shuttle out of zhe Zhor vizhout zhem noticing it?

Meris: Response.

Winters: True, but with a holo-matrix aboard the shuttle, even if someone went to a window and looked outside, they would still see the OEB. Might only buy yourself a few more mins in the ruse but that's time we need.

Kreshkova:  I vould be more intimidated by a ship I could see zhan by a zhreat of an incoming vone.

Orlon, A.:  Ah think we could create the appearance of drop from warp using a burst from the deflector.  But that would likely be more of Roe’s bailiwick than mine.

Meris/Roe: Response.

Winters: I'm a fighter Commander. I'll get out there with rocks in both hands and take on a fight if needed.

Sasch turned her head sideways to glance at Winters, and the edges of her lip curled upward.

Kreshkova:  I’m counting on it, Captain.  But for now, ve vill use better tools at our disposal.  Please confirm zhat both shuttles are still in route to zhe Syren’s song and Zhe Janaran.  Mister Orlon, order a shuttle vizh a power generator and a holomatrix to be prepped asap.  Tell zhem zhey haf five minutes.  Never mind zhat I know it’s impossible, but tell zhem zhat none-zhe-less.

Meris: Response.

Orlon, A:  Captain, Ah’ve got a message from Science.  We are lookin’ at a parallel reality, but it’s operatin’ on a slightly different oscillation speed.  We kin see it, ve kin even interact with it - to a degree, but it causes a latency problem.

Sasch’s finger stopped tapping and her head swiveled slowly around to look at the redhead.

Kreshkova:  Are you telling me zhat you can …tune us to zhe right frequency to so speak?

Meris/Roe/Winters: Response

Kreshkova:  Captain Vinters, as soon as zhe shuttle is ready to launch.  I vant you to fire several shots across zhe bow of bozh of zhose shuttles.  Lieutenant Meris, you vill be remote piloting zhe shuttle.  Its launch should come just after zhe phasers fire and distract zhem.

Ash’s head was down.  Information on the alternate reality flashed across various parts of her screen - each layer of information more in depth than the last.

Meris/Roe/Winters: Response

Kreshkova:  Commander Orlon, see if you can find a vay to beam our people back to zhis side of zhe tidepool. Tell me before you try anyzhing zhough.

Orlon, A.:  Already on it…Captain.

Her fingers were flying across her console, swiping some information off and pulling other information up.  Her eyes swept back and forth consuming everything she could get her hands on.

Meris/Roe/Winters: Response
