Lt. JG V'Len Kel - Suicide...or Murder?

V'Len sat on a park bench at the corner of Parliament and Oak street in Toronto, Canada in the year 1901 on ancient earth. He had created the program based on mystery holonovels he'd been introduced to after his creation. In the simulation he was a detective solving the cities toughest cases. Of course the cases were not super difficult and the real point of the program was to escape his normal life.
V'Len found his hand again wandering to his neck to confirm that a pulse was still present and that his cardiac inducer was still functioning. Of course, the idea that the inducer would cease to function was absurd and if it did the absence of a pulse would be the least of the signs that would indicate something was amiss. But since his injury he found himself checking his pulse frequently. He was sure Brodie would have something to say about it.
As people rushed by V'Len again looked to see if his friends Ulasso and Jack Kessler were coming. Just down the street a murder had occurred and they were here to solve the crime. He had left the door to the holosuite open and figured if anyone wondered in, they would be more than welcome to join.
It was a frigid January afternoon and V'Len was finding it could even for an Andorain. Getting up V'Len began to pace around the street, rubbing his hands together. He considered entering one of the shops to get a slice of cake and warm up when a familiar voice rang out behind him.
Ulasso/Kessler: Response
Kel: You made it. Thanks for joining me.
Ulasso/Kessler: Response
They walked quickly down the street to a hotel. The warmth of the lobby was a welcome relief from the cold day. Two constables were interviewing guests. A third walked quickly up to them.
Constable Higgins: This way sirs. The body was found in room 220.
V'Len: What can you tell us?
Ulasso/Kessler: Response
Higgins: The man's wallet says his name is Sean Donovin. He was found about 3:15 this afternoon by the cleaner. No signs that someone broke in and there's a needle and syringe next to him along with a note.
V'Len: Suicide?
Ulasso/Kessler: Response
Higgins: We suspect so, but we wanted to have a detective confirm it.
They walked into the room. As described it was tidy with the dead man lying on the bed. From the look of it Sean Donovin was young, probably not even out of his 20s. There was a Bible on the nightstand next to him which looked well used. Beside that there was a framed picture of a young woman.
V'Len: ::Turning to Ulasso and Kessler:: Gentleman let's see what we can find.

V'Len: Constable let me see that note.
