((Main Engineering – Deck 11 – USS Oumuamua))

Jack looked at each of the officers as they spoke and thought about each response and how it affected their current situation and the ships offensive and defensive abilities. At least what abilities they had in their current state.

Kessler: ::looking to Corelli:: I can help with that by resynchronizing the plasma infuser relay.

Hartmann: Do it.  We can also modulate the energy distribution manifold.  Corelli, how fast can we get her back to full power?

Jack didn’t look back up as Hartmann asked the chief engineer the question. Instead, Jack focused on his task of resynchronizing the plasma infuser relay. A quick fix here and another from the chief engineer and they would be back in business, well for the moment anyways.

Corelli: Response

Kessler: Relays are all set. ::looking up to Corelli and then to Hartmann::

Hartmann: How long would that give us?

Jack looked to Corelli and watched as the engineer worked on the console. His attention focused and at the same time divided in conversation with Hartmann. Still Jack was impressed by Corelli and his knowledge of starships, their power systems and how to circumvent problems in his head that Jack would have needed a schematic and a tricorder for.

Corelli: Response

Kessler: Well, that should buy us enough time to complete the mission and out of here

Hartmann:  Then that’s the plan.  Hopefully they’ll have the Commodore back and we can be out of here before it becomes a problem.

Before Jack could really process the next step, a sensor chirp alerted him to a change in their shields and as he studied the configuration, he realized it was a transporter beam. Within seconds three individuals had transported into sickbay.

Kessler: Sir ::looking up at Hartmann:: Three people just transported into sickbay from the battlecruiser and it does not look like our transporters were used.

Corelli/Hartmann: Response

Kessler: Confirmed, I am showing Kells, Brodie and Kel are now in sickbay.

Jack looked up at Hartmann and then Corelli smiling. He did not know how they managed it or what had happened to Greaves and Basilia but now three were back onboard and safe for the moment. Jack’s heart felt like it was about to pound its way out of his chest, this situation was hopefully drawing to a close soon and with any luck they would be getting out of this without any further fighting.

Corelli/Hartmann: Response

Kessler: Aye sir, back to the problem at hand.

Jack refocused on the situation they were working on and started to see some of the quick fixes Corelli was making and realized there was a pattern to the engineers thought process. He also noticed for the first time the fast-paced movements around him as other engineers worked on their own projects to also correct issues that had arisen. oO Directing chaos without saying a word. Oo Jack realized that Corelli not only had been working systems problems but had also been sending orders to his staff via text through the console. This guy was a machine and Jack’s respect for the man went up even more.

Corelli/Hartmann: Response

A few more minutes passed as the three worked and then full power came back up. Systems in the area lit up to full power and a more distinctive hum to the ship became noticeable as voices and feet seemed to quiet down for a moment of relief. Jack glanced up at Corelli, caught off by surprise.

Kessler: ::leaning on the console:: OK, what did you just do?

Corelli/Hartmann: Response
